Message
“But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”” Ephesians 5:13–14 NIV.
The LORD is waking you up spiritually and He is going to reveal things you need. Ask for His light to shine on areas where you need wisdom and understanding!
Wisdom and understanding
The spirit of wisdom and understanding are powerful gifts that many are not aware of.
“My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the meditation of my heart will give you understanding.” Psalm 49:3 NIV.
When I meet people, they often ask me to give them a prophetic word. Before I launch in, I ask what they need.
Often, they don’t need a prophetic word, but they need wisdom and understanding into what God is doing, or what He has already spoken.
Releasing surprise blessings and wisdom
“I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am The LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.” Isaiah 45:3 NIV.
The LORD is going to do something, and you will know it is Him. He is releasing financial blessings and hidden revelation.
God knows your name and He has grace for you. He sees your past, present and future all at the same time … and He understands. The LORD is not angry with you!
How to grow in wisdom, discernment and understanding
Start by believing He wants to speak to you. You don’t have to be a prophet to hear The LORD!
I always start by repenting. Even if you have repeated sin or struggles, don’t run away. Just bring everything under the blood.
Prayer:
Lord, I repent for anything that is not pleasing to You. I ask that You bring it all under Your blood and authority.
Your word says if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to cleanse us of all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Make us holy and right with You.
Understanding the fear of The LORD
“The fear of The LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10 NIV.
The fear of The LORD is not the same as being afraid. It does not mean being punished by God if you mess up. It is reverently honoring The LORD and His ways.
Because of the grace of the cross, we can ask forgiveness over and over. The fear of The LORD guides us toward holiness.
Wisdom, revelation and intimacy
“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.” Ephesians 1:17 NIV.
We need to operate in the gifts of wisdom and revelation.
Wisdom, discernment and understanding will help you know if something is from The LORD and how to respond.
Growing in deeper intimacy
Revelation flows from a personal relationship with The LORD. God’s love is stronger than your sin or shortcomings.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1–2 NKJV
“Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away.” Song of Songs 8:6–7 NIV.
Prophetic wisdom
“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.” James 3:17–18 NIV.
-
- You must operate in the spirit of love and humility to master the gifts of wisdom and understanding.
- Deal with pride and operate in a balance of humility.
- Develop the James 3:17–18 qualities: Peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
- Add to that the fruit from Galatians 5:22–23: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control.
Breaking the fear to hear
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.” Isaiah 43:1 NKJV.
Many people have fears when it comes to hearing God and trusting what they hear.
- Fear of being deceived.
- Fear of being wrong.
- .Fear of being rejected (fear of man)
“So don’t be impatient for Yahweh to act; keep moving forward steadily in his ways, and he will exalt you to possess the land. You’ll watch with your own eyes and see the wicked lose everything.” Psalm 37:34 TPT.
Just keep moving forward!
Blessings,
