Greater Glory in 2011
Happy New Year!! We thank God for His providence and protection in 2010. It was surely a year of great accomplishments for us, for our partners and friends even amidst challenges. NOW, this is the year of the manifestation of greater glory in your life. You have a clean slate, another opportunity to succeed, excel and impact the world for Jesus. Haggai prophesied in Haggai 2:9 “‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the LORD of hosts.” Our God is progressive and always moves us from the good to the best; in this year expect greater glory and you will experience His best. The bible declares that you are the temple of the Holy Spirit and God’s Spirit dwells in you (1 Corinthians 3:16); the glory in your life shall be greater than the former glory.
What is glory? Glory means splendor, beauty, magnificence, wonder. It also means honor, praise, admiration and success. The word glory as used in the Old Testament comes from a Hebrew word, ‘kabod’, which means weight, influence or impact. God’s glory means the weight of God’s goodness, power and character in your life. Anything lightweight has no impact. A cat can move in a conference hall and leave it intact, because it is lightweight, but when an elephant moves in the same hall, you will find broken glass; broken chairs and the hall will be greatly changed. An elephant has greater weight than a cat. In 2011, the weight of God’s goodness, power and majesty shall be seen upon you. Get ready for greater influence, greater impact and greater success than ever before.
Heed this call; “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you,” Isaiah 60:1 NKJV. Arise, awake, take your position, and shine. Until there is sunrise we cannot expect the sun to shine; therefore position yourself to shine. Maybe in the past years it felt like you were in the twilight of life, your business or life was like at sunset; arise afresh and begin to shine. God’s glory is rising from within you. He continues; For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. Isaiah 60:2. The darkness of the world; wars, economic recession, natural disasters, terrorist attacks, shall continue, but for you child of God, God’s glory shall be seen upon you. Do not count yourself among those in darkness, but rather let your light so shine in their darkness that they will see a way of escape- Jesus Christ. While Egypt had thick darkness, Goshen the habitation of God’s people had a glorious light. In 2011, God’s glory shall be seen upon you and many will give their lives to Jesus.
The word for glory as used in the New Testament is ‘doxa’. Originally it meant an opinion or estimation in which one is held. Then the word came to denote the reputation, good standing, and esteem given to a person, it progressed to honor or glory given to peoples, nations or individuals. As a believer, you are in right standing with God (righteous), but in 2011 you will be catapulted in good standing with men because of the work of God in your life. Needless to say, there will be those who will love to hate you because of the great success God has given you, but generally your esteem and reputation will become better because of God’s favor upon you.
This word finally means the splendor, radiance and majesty centered in Jesus, which is evidenced by the miracles He performed. When Jesus began His miracle ministry by turning water into wine, it is recorded; and He manifested His glory (doxa); and His disciples believed in Him (John 2:11). When Lazarus was very sick, Jesus said this sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God (John 11:4). Eventually Lazarus died, but when Jesus raised him from the dead, greater glory manifested so much so that many believed in Jesus again. Every attack of the devil against your life shall be turned into a great and glorious victory and many will see the glory and believe in God.
Get ready for the manifestation of greater glory in 2011. Lastly be assured that it is God’s will for you to grow in all aspects of your life, to become better and more effective than before, and to be a true witness of His power and goodness. God is a progressive God and this is a declaration of who you should be in 2011; They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion. Psalms 84:7. This is the year for many to marvel at God’s work in your life because of the manifestation of greater glory. God will show you greater miracles and power. Jesus while talking about His relationship with the Father said; ‘For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel John 5:20.’ This shall also happen to you this year. Many shall marvel because of greater glory. They exclaim like the psalmist; This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes, Psalms 118:23 KJV. They will marvel because God’s glory is marvelous!
Jesus promised us; “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12. Jesus expected greater works because of His relationship with the Father. Now He promised to us greater works because He was returning to the same Father. And since we have the same Father with Jesus; expect greater glory and greater works this year. The Bible says; ‘And all of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more 2 Corinthians 3:18 NLT.’ It is God’s glory not vain glory; we reflect it but we do not make it. Allow the word of God to dwell in you and the Spirit of God to work within you, and then you will manifest greater glory than before. You have twelve months ahead of you; utilize yet another year for God’s glory as you manifest greater glory. ENJOY GREATER GLORY IN 2011
