Grace For Praise! That’s What We Must Ask For, And That’s What We Must Do
As breathing is to the body, so is praise to having a fruitful life in JESUS.
However, we can only praise GOD by His Grace. Everything in GOD can only be done by His Grace. That’s why He said, “without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5).
Therefore, ask for Grace to praise Him. Always ask for Grace. We are powered and empowered by Grace to please GOD.
Praise and worship are our occupation and preoccupation
Praise is eternally indispensable; that’s what we are called to do now, and will do forever before The Throne of GOD.
Our occupation and preoccupation are to praise GOD. Our Faith (belief in GOD) is praise and is of praise to Him.
We are saved to praise and worship GOD. And THE FATHER is looking for the TRUE worshipers to worship Him in spirit and in Truth. (Worship must not be fleshly and false; it must not be performance and entertainment, as has become common in The Church. Worship must be led and inspired by THE HOLY SPIRIT and based on GOD’s Truth – Revelation Knowledge of Him by His SPIRIT.
As JESUS said of THE HOLY SPIRIT, “He will glorify Me, for He will take of What is Mine and declare it to you.” (John 16:14).
True praise and worship can only be led and proclaimed by THE HOLY SPIRIT to us and through us.
As written, “no one can say that JESUS is LORD except by THE HOLY SPIRIT.” (1 Corinthians 12:3).
The affection and focus of our praise is GOD and must be only GOD. David, that model praiser and worshiper, referred to GOD as “GOD of my praise!” (Psalm 109:1).
Praise and worship protect from the enemy
THE LORD showed me something the other day that amazed me exceedingly about the importance and POWER of praise and worship in our lives.
“Now the distressing spirit from THE LORD came upon Saul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand. And David was playing music with his hand. Then Saul sought to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away from Saul’s presence; and he drove the spear into the wall. So David fled and escaped that night.” 1 Samuel 19:9-10.
Look at the SERIOUS contrast physically and spiritually: David wielded worship with his hand; but Saul wielded wickedness with his hand, against David. And the weapon Saul formed against David could not prosper. Hallelu-YAH!
Praise and worship form a Divine Shield of Protection from demonic attacks and missiles. They are Divine Anti-missile Defence Systems around us – The Armor of Righteousness. Thank You JESUS!
Praise and worship are Sacrifices of Righteousness to GOD. And Righteousness is an armour. By praise and worship, we are protected “by The Armor of Righteousness on the right hand and on the left,” (2 Corinthians 6:7).
I vividly recall a moment 17 to 18 years ago in which THE LORD protected me from being killed by the enemy, because I was worshiping Him.
After returning from a couple of days’ work-related trip to the north of England, I was crossing a major street in Central London (in a prominent area called Bloomsbury).
It was late at night. I checked either side of the road very well. There was no vehicle in sight. (It is a long straight section of the road, and so I saw way down into the distance in both directions).
I was really ministering to THE LORD in spirit and in Truth, worshiping Him in great adoration and thanksgiving.
Just when I stepped into the road and was crossing, I suddenly felt a fast draught (draft) blow and brush across the front of my body, SO CLOSE!
Before I could even blink with a ‘What’s that!’ reflex, a speeding car was zooming into the distance on my left, having just nearly knocked me down from my right. It was the ONLY vehicle in that moment (although, it is a VERY busy street and area of the city).
Whether by men or demons (yes, demons can, and do, such things!) or men inspired by demons, the car had emerged from nowhere and only missed my frame by inches. Had I taken the next step in my stride before it got to my line of walk, it will have knocked me down.
As I thought momentarily with shock, THE LORD said to me in my spirit that I was protected “Because you were worshiping…”
Ministering to THE LORD is a MIGHTY armour of protection.
Praise and worship delivers from prison
As I shared in times past, when Paul and Silas prayed and praised, they were DRAMATICALLY and quickly delivered out of prison.
“But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to GOD, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.” Acts 16:25-26.
Fervent prayer and praise will quake and shake the foundations of any prison you may be in regarding any area of life, immediately open doors for you, and loose any chains you may have been bound in.
Praise releases The ALMIGHTY Military Power of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST for immediate deliverance and victory.
When Jehoshaphat and his people praised Him in the face of a looming battle FAR bigger than them, GOD did the fighting for them, and gave them GREAT abundance from the enemy.
They did not have to fire ONE bullet, well…, shoot one arrow.
And they had super-abundance, from a battle they didn’t fight. Their praise moved THE LORD OF HOSTS to do it all for them.
“And when he [Jehoshaphat] had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to THE LORD, and who should praise The Beauty of Holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise THE LORD, For His Mercy endures forever.” Now when they began to sing and to praise, THE LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated. For the people of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir to utterly kill and destroy them. And when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another. So when Judah came to a place overlooking the wilderness, they looked toward the multitude; and there were their dead bodies, fallen on the earth. No one had escaped. When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away their spoil, they found among them an abundance of valuables on the dead bodies, and precious jewelry, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away; and they were three days gathering the spoil because there was so much.” 2 Chronicles 20:21-25.
(Please study 2 Chronicles 20:1–20 for the full context).
Switch now to praising GOD fervently. And He will immediately deliver you and give you victory and super-abundance. This is repeatedly my testimony and experience.
No matter what the situation is, GOD is good. And when we praise Him for His Goodness and Faithfulness, He is Faithful and Merciful to release His Goodness.
We must always worship GOD for His Goodness, Faithfulness and Merciful Kindness, no matter what is happening in the natural (whether good or bad). This is what it means to worship GOD in spirit and in Truth. It is worship that does not depend on circumstances, but on GOD and His Truth, for He is EVER FAITHFUL, NEVER FAILING.
“Oh, how great is Your Goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men!” Psalm 31:19.
The days we are in, this is the hour to worship GOD in spirit and in Truth.
As our LORD has said, “the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship THE FATHER in spirit and Truth; for THE FATHER is seeking such to worship Him. GOD is SPIRIT, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and Truth.” (John 4:23-24).
When we praise GOD genuinely, He actually acts on our behalf.
On two consecutive days a few months ago, I respectively had visions of an arrow being bended (readied) by an archer to shoot a target; and a fighter jet in flight as I was praising GOD.
By The Grace of GOD, I write my dreams and visions down so as to steward them, you know, act on them to The Glory of GOD.
The following is an excerpt from my journal notes on the two visions:
“While praising GOD fervently, I saw a bow and arrow being readied to be shot at a target.
Immediately, I understood that my praising GOD was causing arrows from THE LORD to destroy the enemy.
Then the next day, while praising and worshiping GOD, I saw a beautiful Divine Jet Fighter flying high overhead, heading into combat, to bomb its targets. [It had a swordfish business end].
Again, I understood that my praising GOD caused Him to release His ‘Air Force’ to destroy the enemy.”
“He sent out His Arrows and scattered the foe, Lightnings in abundance, and He vanquished them.” Psalm 18:14.
“He sent out Arrows and scattered them; Lightning bolts, and He vanquished them.” 2 Samuel 22:15.
“Your Arrows are sharp in the heart of The King’s enemies; the peoples fall under You.” Psalm 45:5.
Praising GOD causes All His Goodness in Him, The Riches of His Glory, yes, His POWER, to literally flow out of Him for our deliverance, goodness and victory.
Thank GOD like JESUS (Matthew 11:25; John 11:41; 6:11), give glory to GOD like Abraham (Romans 4:20), praise and worship GOD like David (in the psalms and other Scriptures), minister to THE LORD like the prophets and teachers in The Church at Antioch (Acts 13:1-2), and sing to GOD like Paul and Silas (Acts 16:25).
GOD’s Plans concerning us are revealed when we praise Him
We don’t praise GOD for this, but He does this for us when we praise Him.
GOD often reveals His Good and Great Plans concerning me to me when I am praising and worshiping Him, just as He did for Paul and Silas while they were ministering to THE LORD:
“Now in The Church that was at Antioch there were certain prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. As they ministered to THE LORD and fasted, THE HOLY SPIRIT said, “Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for The Work to Which I have called them.” Then, having fasted and prayed, and laid hands on them, they sent them away.” Acts 13:1-3.
Pray the psalms to Him
A very spiritually/Spiritually POWERFUL way to praise GOD is to pray the psalms to Him often, out loud. He LOVES it so much; He actually said so to me recently regarding my daily praying one of various psalms to Him, saying simply: “l like to hear It.”
It is something I have been doing for some years now by The Revelation of THE HOLY SPIRIT. Praying the psalms out loud is a MIGHTY and productive spiritual warfare strategy that praises GOD and obliterates the enemy.
Grace for praise! Grace for praise! Ask GOD for Grace to praise Him.
“Praise THE LORD! Praise, O servants of THE LORD, Praise THE NAME OF THE LORD! Blessed be THE NAME OF THE LORD From this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its going down THE LORD’s NAME is to be praised.” Psalm 113:1-3.
“Let the high praises of GOD be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them The Written Judgment — this honor have all His saints. Praise THE LORD!” Psalm 149:6-9.
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Addison Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of JESUS CHRIST by The Will of GOD, according to The Promise of Life Which is in CHRIST JESUS, (2 Timothy 1:1).
Like John, I like to put my head to The Heart of JESUS so as to know and do His Will always. What’s in His Heart is what matters now and FOREVER. His Heart’s Desire is my only desire. My will is to do His Will.
As John was, I am the disciple whom JESUS loves. And like Paul, I am “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
NB. Surely, the disciple whom JESUS loves and “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS”, like ALL The Promises of GOD, are available to every believer to obtain, just as John and Paul did.
“And having been perfected, He [JESUS] became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
YES! I have taken printouts to my secret place and prayed through psalms! I can hardly finish because tears overwhelm me, as they almost always do when I feel the Lord’s tangible presence. I highly agree, pray the psalms!
So Awesome !!
Brother Jacob, I was wondering if you would be so kind as to help me with the intepretation of 2 dreams I had this morning. My email is mc15jen@gmail.com. Thank you brother Jacob. God’s blessings to you.
Powerful truth ! Thank you, dear brother Jacob.
