Good Words or Solemn Promises?
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose,” Romans 8:28.
Fanciful, feel good words or God’s solemn promise? For while our lips speak of these words, our hearts often fear otherwise.
We miss out on God’s blessing because we cannot imagine how our circumstances could possibly come together for good.
If you search your heart and say, “I don’t see how this promise could be fulfilled,” you are not alone. I have been there. I have spouted curses even as God was at work blessing my heart. I have missed out on His perfect will because it did not come in its expected packaging.
So I propose, do not just read these words. Stop and ponder them.
Declare from your heart, “Lord, You say that You are working things for good and yet I cannot see it. Show me, Father! Bring glory to Your name through my faith that I may, like Abraham, believe You with all of my heart and thus be declared RIGHTEOUS.”
