Going Back to the Basics
Going Back to the Basics and the Simple Things of God Are the Most Important!
As I was pondering upon the LORD, He spoke this scripture to me,
“For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe,” 1 Thessalonians 2:13 KJV.
So, many people have gotten away from taking God at His word! Many will believe the word of others before they believe God!
I believe that God is saying that this is what has gotten the church in so much trouble both locally and corporately!
Man has taken the place of God and His promises because people are looking for a sign! Just as Thomas did.
But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.
Sometimes, God will not allow us to see the entire picture because our faith is being tested.
So, the other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the LORD. But Thomas said unto them, “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
Isn’t that just like many of us who claim to be a follower of God?
Just because you haven’t seen it, don’t mean God cannot do it!
God has had many who have gone down the paths we have not; the prophets and the apostles of old who have testified of His goodnesses and still the church needs a sign like Thomas did — somebody who ate, drank and followed Him daily to learn of Him, still didn’t believe He was able to be resurrected from the grave!
And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace be unto you!”
Then saith He to Thomas, “Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.”
You see, even after Jesus showed up Thomas still had to reach into the side of Jesus believing before he could receive the both the miracle and resurrection of Christ.
Why? Because, without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek Him, (Hebrew 11:6 INV)
And Thomas answered and said unto him, “My LORD and my God!”
Jesus saith unto him, “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.”
Come on Somebody! The church has gotten away from the simplest and the most basic things in salvation which is to “just believe!”
Some of us looking for God in all the wrong places like Elijah did when all you need to do is to listen for His still small voice!
Now, I am in no way saying that God cannot use people because the disciples told Thomas they had seen Christ, but because He failed to do what Jesus told him which was,”simply reach in believing,” Thomas almost missed his opportune visitation to see the risen LORD!
What opportunities and visitation have you missed all because you refused to believe?

Apostle Geraldine Fisher has a World-Wide-Social Media Net-Work Ministry. As a Missionary, God moved her into the Office of a Prophet, revealing to her the qualities of a True prophet, humility, humiliation, loving others, interceding in prayer, as she keeps her own life clean to accurately hear from God. Since hearing the audible voice of God calling her to ministry, she’s been called to intercede and pray for others in ministry as God speaks, instructs, directs and gives prophetic words for her to give to others. God promised He would bring her to sit and to learn before great men, all of which He did!
