God’s Recovery Plan
I want to share a Word that The Holy Spirit gave me for those of you who are going through a time of sadness, sorrow or discouragement in this holiday season.
You once had a dream and a vision for your life, but circumstances drove you in a different direction than you’ve planned.
You may have been through physical issues, divorce, loss of a loved one or some other misfortune this year.
You may be a prodigal son or daughter who walked away from The LORD and you now feel that you are disqualified from God’s Plan.
That is so far from the Truth. We serve a Mighty God, Who is able to turn any life around no matter what you’ve been through.
You are not here by accident. You have been created in God’s image, therefore you have a destiny. Jesus has an amazing future planned for you, and He’s calling you back to pursue those dreams once again.
The sins of your past won’t cancel out His plans for your life, as long as you repented and turned from them. Then He will make the crooked paths straight.
Last night, I was looking through an old Dream Journal, and I came across a Dream that I had several years ago.
In the dream I was driving alone at night on a highway with heavy traffic. I called a friend from my mobile phone and said: “I’m just going to turn back and go home”.
As soon as I said that, the traffic began to break up and there was a clear road ahead of me. I said to my friend, “If I turned back I would have lost everything that I was going for”.
The Dream then went to another scene where I was sitting down at a table eating with other believers.
When I woke up I knew that was a Dream from The LORD to encourage me not to turn back.
When we follow the leading of The Holy Spirit, He will remove every obstacle in our way to get us to our destination.
Some of you made wrong decisions in your lives but the problem is that you are continuing to rehearse the thoughts in your mind.
You need to forget the past so that Jesus could bring healing and restoration. You’ll never receive a breakthrough if you keep entertaining dead thoughts that no longer exist.
I remember a message that I heard one time from Prophet Robin Bullock about dwelling on the past. He said:
“Your thoughts of the past are just a reflection of what was, and a shadow world that don’t exist anymore”.
People try to go back into their past in their thoughts to keep it alive. That’s like keeping a dead body on life support. They try to keep pumping life into it to keep it going.
If you don’t let the past go, you are going to take life from yourself to keep that old body breathing. The bad memories need to be buried once and for all, never to be resurrected.
You may be reminiscing about old times whether they were good or bad because that’s what you understand and what you are familiar with.
You may not have a clear vision of what’s ahead so you are trying to keep that old world alive. You have to understand that Satan will try to keep you tied down so you can’t move forward and pursue what God’s created you to do.
He can’t get into your future, so he will try to make you keep your past alive. He will make you rehearse the same hurts, losses and pains. We need to operate in our future and the power of our destiny.
The LORD wants you to upgrade your self-image so you will no longer see yourself as the person who you once were.
He wants to renew your way of thinking into the image of how Jesus sees you. Don’t be afraid of the change, but allow The LORD to transform you into the new wineskin that’s prepared for the new wine.
Remember where He has brought you from, but walk in the newness that He is bringing you into.
Don’t look back at the person that you once were but look unto the promises and the provisions that The LORD has for you.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland,” Isaiah 43:18–19.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new,” 2 Corinthians 5:17.
“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus,” Philippians 3:13-14.
Blessings in Christ Jesus,
