God’s Plans Are Sure
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name! 1
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, 2
The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when He delights in his way; 3
though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD upholds his hand. 4
It is good to learn what pleases the LORD, because He condemns those who plan to do wrong. 5
Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps. 6
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand. 7
The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He frustrates the plans of the peoples. 8
For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the LORD. 9
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. 10
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 11
He is unchangeable, and who can turn Him back? What He desires, that He does. 12
For He will complete what He appoints for me, and many such things are in His mind. 13
“Remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, 14
declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all My purpose.” 15
For I, the LORD your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” 16
So do not worry, saying, ‘what shall we eat?’ or ‘what shall we drink?’ or ‘what shall we wear?’. 17
For the pagans run after these things, and your Heavenly Father knows that you need them. 18
But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you. 19
“Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” 20
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 21
so shall My word be that goes out from My mouth; it shall not return to Me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. 22
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 23
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. 24
To the only God, our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. 25
