God’s House – The Vision & Purpose
Sometimes I see people so desiring leadership positions in the ministry, and I wonder, “How so?”
Many years ago, it wasn’t so!
We ran from the call, not because we didn’t want it, but because we saw the price as too high. The weight of the cross too heavy and ourselves so insufficient, for such task.
We felt so unworthy and unqualified for such a calling, that daily death was a necessary must, so we can conform to this divine mandate, calling (vision) and purpose!
It’s been 2½ decades now I’ve been in ministry and yet, I do not fully understand it as I should. In fact. I must be honest here to say, “I fall short of it.”
This simple honesty keeps me searching and seeking His heart, that I may do ‘ministry right.’
It’s not just enough to rent a hall, buy plastic chairs and Holy Communion accessories, a good pulpit etc, gather people, take on the self acclaimed title of general overseer and founder etc., then start preaching, raising funds and living expensively at the expense of God’s people whom He bought with His Blood!
God did not establish the New Testament Church to be lead by prophets, but by His Spirit.
However, prophets and the prophetic ministry, are meant for edifying the church.
“…..but upon Mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions…… ….. and saviours shall come up on Mount Zion to judge the Mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’s,” Obadiah 1:17,21.
The vision and purpose of the ministry is not for self dignification, or glorification and signification.
His desire is that, from His House, co-saviors will emerge to become one with the Chief Saviour, thus fulfilling the vision and purpose of saving humanity!
