God Delights in Your Way!
The Psalmist wrote; “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way” Psalms 37:23. God orders your steps and then delights in your way!! Wow! What a verse! Contrary to what many say that God’s way of doing things is always against man’s way, the bible says He delights in the way of the good man. The phrase ‘good man’ is rendered the ‘righteous man’ in other versions. This is talking about every believer, God’s children because we are His righteousness in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21). God’s ways are against the unrighteous man’s ways, not His children’s ways. I am very much aware that often times believers live lives that are not in sync with God’s word, led by their feelings and relying on a carnal mind. Every child of God in such a situation is like a stubborn kid in a home; however, their position in the family is intact though they face the consequences of their actions. Is it hard to get on the right way? No, it is very easy. The beginning verses of this same chapter by the psalmist shows us the way to go; “Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass” (Psalms 37:4-5).
Delight yourself in the Lord; find pleasure and satisfaction in His presence and personality, and He will grant your heart’s desires. Have you noticed that the psalmist didn’t say that ‘He will give you the desires of His heart, but ‘your’ heart’? That is very profound; by delighting in the Lord, your heart’s desires align with His, glory to God. Do you need divine direction? Then delight yourself in the Lord, enjoy intimate moments of worship and make this your lifestyle. The psalmist also says; ‘commit your way to the Lord.’ Do you pray about your goals, plans and aspirations? This is the way to go, if you are going to make great progress with a resounding victory. Many times we are in a hurry, desiring to know, to do or to see, the next move, project or way respectively, but we should also learn to trust in God. Notice the sequence; delight in the Lord, commit your way to the Lord and trust also in Him. Mark the word ‘also’; this means without trust the process is incomplete. Delight, commit and also trust. When you feel delayed add trust to your prayer and worship. God loves you as His child, He orders your steps and He delights in your way. Hallelujah. It is God’s desire that you won’t miss the way. He gives you His word to light your way and His Spirit to lead the way, what He needs is your partnership to walk in the way. God is trustworthy and faithful. The series continue and I will shortly tell you how God orders our steps. Share this with a friend.
