God Asks Us to Take Action
Faith is an action word.
God asks Noah to take action, to do something specific. Basically He’s saying, “You are righteous in a corrupt world, so here is what I want you to do Noah, I want you to build an ark make it just like this.“
God gives the instruction in the blueprint, and Noah does all that God commanded him. Even though the people around him thought that he was crazy, Noah did everything as he was told to do.
So we are all not so different. We are believers, living in a corrupt world, seeking intimacy with our God. He has given us something to do. We’ve got our marching orders, just like Noah had.
God has commanded us to build an Ark. Our Ark is the life we live, one that exhibits the resurrection power of Jesus. Our blueprint is Jesus’ Commands.
This is what we’ll save us from the negative consequences of Sin. And, like Noah, when we walk in the Resurrection power of Jesus, we gain great reward.
As God Commands us to act, He gives us the specifications — the dimensions and limitations of a well — lived life.
We are all called to be Ark Builders, to construct a life decision by decision, and obedience to The LORD.
In the beginning, this walk may be hard, but day by day it becomes a little easier and rewarding.
What is the condition of your Ark? Have you followed the specifications? Will it stand when the weather turns bad?
Noah is mentioned in numerous places in the Bible, as an example of obedience.
We need to build our Ark just the way Jesus told us to — listening to God and not deviating from his way to our own ways, recalling that His Ways are higher than our ways, and His Thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
