Give and it shall be Given?
Is it right to give? Yes it is.. According to God’s word, you shall give and give freely. Do you have to pay God to receive His promises or to enter the promise land? No, you should not! Can you buy your way into the promise land? I don’t think so! Can God be bought out? If he could then the wealthy people would be the VIPs and you wouldn’t have a chance!
Should you want to tithe and give… Yes and do it with the right motives. You can’t live an ungodly life and buy your way into heaven. If that were so, then why did God send Jesus to die for our sins and redeem (pay for) us?
God wants you to live holy and righteous, above anything and looks at our heart. Just as the widow woman that gave only a few cents when all of the rich people gave large amounts. Nowhere is there scripture that you have to buy your way in our out of anything. God requires faith and obedience. Giving into ministries is good because it takes money to function in our economy and ministers do labor. Give 10, 20, 30 or 100% if you like, give your land, house, condo, and whatever else you want to give. It’s up to you, because God’s word in 2 Corinthians 9:7 says
“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For god loves a person who gives cheerfully….”
you can read it for yourself…
Now what did the Word of God just say? Again, it is your motive for giving. Some in ministry love to use Malachi 3. And when they tithed in this scripture, there was silver and gold in the economy but God told them to give from the fruit of the land. Read it for yourselves!
Finally, this is not telling you not to tithe or give, you give according to God and his word. No one should be lying and telling you that you have to give or buy your way into the promised land or the promises of God. That’s a lie from the devil. We should teach the word of God and some that say this have the wrong motives themselves.
Just like foxes, they try to be slick. But spiritual discernment from the lord beats the “slickness of a fox” any day and forever. Yes, give and do as the Lord asks of you. There is no way that I or any other person should tell you not to give into ministries. That’s where the error is! You can give 10% or more, just do it willingly and freely from the heart.
Whatever God has required of us is plain in the Word of God and you don’t have to figure it out.. Just study the Word of God for yourself:
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” 2 Timothy 2:15.
“…each of you must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully” 2 Corinthians 9:7.
God’s way is not hard, (Matthew 11:30), his yoke is easy and he don’t put burdens on us. And if someone continues to pressure and barge you to give and use tithing as a guilt trip, then give them a few sweet potatoes, a bag of onions, and a couple bunches of collard greens (Leviticus 27:30). See if that will hold them for a while!
“Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything — all she had to live on” Mark 12:41-44.
