Getting to The Top
People will get to the ‘top’ through compromise, immorality, all sorts of mischief and even by grieving God and yet say it was ‘God’s Favour’ that lifted them to that level!
It’s not only God who lifts men or makes them affluent and influential. Even the devil has his own powerful and working system and uses well creative strategies to do the same (Matthew 4:8-9).
Friends, when it’s God’s Favour…. it doesn’t smell of sin, glorify you, or glorify Satan in any way.
Be careful what you call God’s Favour — it might just be a bait from the devil to lure you into the pit.
If he could try to tempt Jesus to bow down to him just for the sake of worldly power and affluence, what makes you think he won’t actually tempt you with it so that you just bow down to him?
Remember, God sends rain to the righteous and the wicked, but that does not mean he favours wickedness or the wicked, they just thrive by the Mercies of God.
Remember that the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. In time to come, that wealth they acquired through whatever compromised way, will somehow be turned over to the righteous — God knows how.
If they call it God’s Favour, let them be prepared to see that wealth or that position they acquired being miraculously turned to God’s Kingdom, or for God’s Glory somehow.
“Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Matthew 4:8-9.
