Jesus knew the end from the beginning, He knew not just the process, but the outcome when faced with what was to come, as He asked for the cup to pass there in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Many times while in that tight place, we would rather the cup pass than stay in a place of prayer to align ourselves with God.

The Garden of Gethsemane represents that very process of alignment. It is much like a clock where God is the hour hand at 12 o’clock and we are the minute hand going around in the process, but aligning with His will as both hands soon meet together at the 12 o’clock hour.

We learn how to work with God, even when we know the beginning and trust God for the end result, but He does not show us the middle.

Jesus did not go to Gethsemane to find out how the story ended, but to deal with the very middle.

Waiting can indeed be a great pressure, but The LORD shall renew your strength. You shall mount up with wings as eagles to soar.

Are you in your Garden of Gethsemane?

The name Gethsemane means “oil press,” or a place of pressing; the place where olives are crushed and oil flows forth, the place where there is intense pressure.

It is different than the wilderness, the place of such personal temptation to overcome, for you have an enemy to fight there.

It is different than the Cross for you have a physical problem you can see, but in the garden you see nothing, it is just the pressure that you feel, the crushing.

Paul had to keep praying for God to remove the thorn and God said, “My Grace is sufficient!” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

You may feel all the pressures around you, but His Grace is sufficient and will see you through. There is a Grace for every Gethsemane you face!

Remember, after Gethsemane and the Cross, Jesus arose with all power in His hands. That same power lives within you!
