Fuel Starvation
In another recent Dream, I was driving my car.
I was alone and for some reason I was driving slowly, but it was as fast as the car would go.
I came to a junction and just sat there for a few moments. I noted that a large, faster car pulled up behind me, waiting patiently.
I didn’t know which way to turn, and I sat pondering this for a few seconds before realising that it was an odd, double junction. I had to turn right and follow round to reach the actual junction on the main highway.
So I started to move forward, but very slowly and the car waiting behind me promptly nipped past and went on his way.
I noted that there was virtually no acceleration power in my car, probably I thought due to fuel starvation!
Suddenly, as if the power had been switched on again, the car began to drive normally and I went on my way.
The Holy Spirit then revealed to me that:
- The fuel starvation was due to a lack of motivation!
- The lack of motivation was caused by me/ us wanting to do it our own way — the old song, “My Way,” came to mind.
- The reason the car started again, was because I surrendered my way and prayed for The LORD to do things His way.
- God answered by causing the car to run properly, the way it was intended, thus allowing The Holy Spirit to work in us, through us, and for us!
I wondered for a while how often our plans and schemes, most likely God given ideas and visions, we’re slowly running down through fuel starvation or a lack of motivation.
I wondered how often The Holy Spirit was hampered by us trying to do things our own way, instead of waiting on The LORD for both His way, and timing.
How often do we rush into a new idea, albeit an idea or vision from The LORD, without seeking Him further for the timing or the process or methodology to achieve whatever He is asking us to do?
I know I’m guilty of doing it my way before waiting for God to tell me, or even show me, how He wants it done!
Planning our God-given tasks cannot be successful without Gods input and help.
Whether it’s a simple task or a grand task,
“Unless The LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless The LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” Psalm 127:1
So when we receive a God-idea or vision, let’s just pause a while, and just listen.
God is so patient with us — but He doesn’t speak direction to us without first we give Him our undivided, uncluttered, attention.
Let Him finish speaking before we rush off doing everything our way.
Personally, I’ve had far too many false starts — my way is littered with projects I’ve had to abandon, because I’ve not listened — or I’ve been too soon — or occasionally, too late.
“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalms 119:105
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says The LORD.” Isaiah 55:8

So much truth here
Bro. Chris –
A true word of wisdom you’ve posted here Sir. Kind of sums up the state of the Church, doesn’t it. Simple, yet profound truths.
Thank you Elizabeth
Glory to God for His wisdom
God bless you
