Fruits of the Vine
Here they are, glistening in all of their glory.
The last of the harvest from the tiny tomato seeds I started indoors last March in the dark months of a strange March and cold winter.
These ‘fruits of the vine’ are vibrant and lush now, but were nearly minuscule at planting time, steeped and buried in dirt, confined to a 2 inch starter tray.
In life, we plant seeds everywhere we go.
Some fall on fertile ground needing very little to grow.
Some fall on rocky soil requiring a nudge and a bit more TLC (Tender Loving Care).
While others fall in seemingly barren land and no matter what you do, it appears the seed is dead. It… “appears” that way…
… But, each seed planted will have a sound wave type of effect.
You MIGHT see it in the present moment of time, or a time not yet seen.
Oh! Be wise about where you plant your seeds.
Be very aware of your actions and deeds.
Negativity and stubbornness grow just as fast (if not even faster) than Joy and Kindness.
Plant those seemingly “minuscule seeds” of compassion, sacrificial giving of time and goods and comfort liberally.
Those seeds…
… They grow into big safe places for others find rest, ask questions, and to Hope again.
“The wisdom from above is pure first of all;
It is also peaceful, gentle, and friendly;
It is full of compassion and produces a harvest of good deeds;
It is free from prejudice and hypocrisy.
And goodness IS the harvest that is produced
from the seeds the peacemakers plant in peace,” James 3:17-18 GNT.

Thank you for this word today. I’ve been staying with my brother who just had extensive back surgery. He is not a happy camper and wonders where God is in all his struggles. Yet he has prayed to receive Jesus in his heart and asked forgiveness of sins but says he doesn’t feel any different. Showing him compassion and comfort hasn’t been the easiest as he is pretty negative and being with him full time has required much grace. Thank you for your encouragement!
