Fruit that Remains!
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you,” John 15:16 (KJV).
He has chosen you….. You know, I believe Jesus makes investments in people who will bring a return, who will do what they are asked, and, He ordains you for the work. We are complete in Him.
What are we chosen for? Here it talks about bringing forth fruit. A fruit tree has all the genetics for bringing forth fruit in the natural, and with the proper fertilizer, sunshine, and rain, the fruit tree will produce beautiful, delicious, fruit that can be eaten and enjoyed.
You also, are, “Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ,” (1 Peter 1:2). We have a purpose set forth for each of us to accomplish, not just something to do, but to make an impact that is lasting, through generations.
I was thinking of Abraham this morning, and how few men of God are actually discussed in the Bible…. These men are talked about because they did something for God that is an eternal example for all of us to follow. NOW THAT IS FRUIT!
You can look at their life as an example of Christ’s teachings, and how to live the word out. Their life is a living parable. I pray we all have the aspirations and the foot movement, that if a book were written of men an women of God today that stood out, you would have a lasting valuable testimony that others would say, I want a life that follows god like that! Oh, how I want to please the lord god in everything I do, in thought and deed!
You have the right genetics, for you are a partaker of the Divine Nature. He has given you abundant mercy and you have been, “begotten again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time,” 1 Peter 1:3-5.
You know that God is the greatest giver of all, for He have His Son Jesus for us all that we might be saved. According to the last part of John 5:16, your fruit bearing and asking and receiving are linked together.
It comes from relationship with Him. Look at another verse in the same chapter of John 5:7, that says, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
Receiving is a reward here and now, for quality work done because of our love and devotion for Him. This work He asks of us can only be done out of love for Him, and then, the fruit that you bear will ‘remain.’
Beloved, let us make it our goal today to abide in this relationship of love and trust with Him, and to give to others from the Father, as He wills. Ask Him to use you today so lasting fruit, eternal fruit would be born in your life for the Kingdom of God.
God Bless You, you are in my prayers
