It is a slow path from distraction to disconnect, both in natural relationships as well as in our relationship with God.

Life gets busy, our thoughts are consumed with our “to-do” lists, and before you know it your relationship with God is lukewarm at best.

It doesn’t matter how much a person knows about God, or how great your past experiences have been, if you’re not talking to someone, you’re not having a relationship with them.

God loves to communicate in many different ways. The question is: Are we receiving His Messages?

Our spiritual frequency is going to pick up messages one way or another, but what we tune into is directly related to where our focus is aimed.

If we’re focused on the things of the world, we’re going to pick up messages that feed our fleshly desires.

The problem is, God’s Word tells us that friendship with the world actually puts us in misalignment with Him!

If you’re not reading The Word, then at some point the enemy of your soul WILL exploit that weakness, and he is oh-so-patient in how he sets a snare.

Satan has a replacement theology already in motion. Busyness, distraction, and mental tiredness leads to apathy and a lack of desire to pursue God.

Good intentions turn to excuses and other things replace your devotion to spending time with The LORD.

Reading the Bible seems like a waste of time, and it begins to sit untouched for weeks or months on end.

Satan’s replacement plan is in full force now, to send an attack so subtle you might not even consider it’s actually spiritual warfare.

It just feels like blah. Not today. I will get to it tomorrow. You can actually feel yourself disconnecting from God a little bit more as time goes on.

It might feel like a blanket of discouragement out of the blue, but then the words begin to flow — words that sound like frustration, unbelief, doubt or dissatisfaction.

It could be about your kids, your weight, your job, school, ministry, those unfulfilled hopes or dreams, that project your put so much energy into that went nowhere — or even that loved one that is following the ways of the world instead of running into the loving arms of The LORD.

The enemy looks for ways to capture our agreement with his wet blanket of doubt and discouragement, and our agreement with unbelief puts him and his secret agents on assignment.

He has been waiting to get our agreement! It is like signing a contract in the spirit so that the kingdom of darkness gets to carry out exactly what we agreed with — and we didn’t even realize we had given our consent!

Could this be what is preventing your long awaited breakthrough? Words of unbelief? If this is sounding a bit convicting then it’s time to cancel the enemy’s assignment and cancel the word curses we’ve spoken over the very areas where we’ve longed to see breakthrough.

What HAVE you said? Don’t remember? Angels have transcribed every word! And so has the enemy. He does NOT want you to repent and condemn those words!

Ask The Holy Spirit to bring back to your remembrance any negative words that have actually hindered your breakthrough.

Ask Him to bring to mind spoken words where you put the enemy on assignment, perhaps out of your own frustration or negative judgements.

Sometimes it is the power of our own words that need to be broken concerning that stubborn, resistant loved one because we have actually empowered the enemy’s assignment in their life.

Our unbelief will affect the faith or unbelief of others, depending on what we speak. Perhaps it is uor own words that prevent the answer to prayer that we’ve been waiting on.

Our words hold the power of life or death! Until we actually repent for the negative words we’ve spoken, it acts as an invisible wall preventing breakthrough.

Sometimes the enemy has legal grounds that need to be removed before God can act. If you have given the enemy permission to enforce the law of agreement against you, then you need to revoke it.

Only confession of sin and applying The Blood of Jesus is powerful enough to cancel that contract you made in The Spirit.

Speak a blessing, make your decrees in faith and reverse the curse, because it unties things in the spirit realm and allows God to invade those circumstances once again.

It’s time to outwit your opponent!
