Forget, Forget The Past!
As the year is coming to an end I wanted to share something that The LORD is showing me.
The other day I was watching “Jesus 18” live stream conference which was held in Florida. I was so caught up in the presence of God as I was watching.
There were many healings, salvations, encounters and some people were also set free from demonic spirits. Some of the speakers gave testimonies of horrendous situations that they were delivered from.
Some were delivered from drugs, alcohol, mental illness, sexual abuse and physical abuse. Each one of them spoke about their personal relationship with Jesus.
As I was thinking about the battle that they must have endured to receive an anointing at that level, the Holy Spirit clearly said to me: “That is what I could do with a life that is fully submitted to Me.”
I understood that was a personal invitation to each one of us. These men and women surrendered their lives to The LORD and He is using them mightily.
Their relationship with Jesus in the secret place is so evident in their lives and ministries. Some of you have a calling on your life but you are stuck in your past.
Even as the holidays are approaching you have been thinking about the good times and the bad times of yesterday. Don’t reminisce on the way that you think it should have been. Dwelling on those memories will delay you from what The LORD has for you.
Your past situation won’t determine your future destination. The LORD wants to remove the trauma, the fears and the hurts of your past.
He doesn’t take things out of your life to hurt you but to empower you. He removes things from your life that would harm and hinder you.
Some of you wouldn’t be alive if you continued to go in the direction that you were headed in. Jesus said; “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
We are not called to mediocrity but to an abundant life of signs and wonders. We are called to bring salvation to the lost, heal the sick, cleanse the leapers, raise the dead and cast out demons.
Forget what lies behind. Don’t hold on to past memories that will burden you and bring bitterness to your soul. Don’t look at yourself the way that you were in the past.
You are no longer the man or woman that you once were. Your past is your history. It is your testimony of where He has brought you from, but He is calling you to a higher level to be used mightily as a sign and a wonder to the nations in 2019.
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I AM doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I AM making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland,” Isaiah 43:18-19.
“Jesus responded, ‘Why do you keep looking backward to your past and have second thoughts about following me? When you turn back you are useless to God’s kingdom realm,’” Luke 9:62 TPT.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new,” 2 Corinthians 5:17.
“I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover. I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus,” Philippians 3:12-14 TPT.
Blessings in Christ Jesus,
