Fear and Faith
FEAR and FAITH cannot coexist as they are contrary one to the other!
Lately, The Holy Spirit has been dealing with me about the issue of how fear impacts our prayers, because if we are to be honest, for many of us, there are times we pray and still waiver, wondering if God hears, and wondering if He’ll answer….
The ‘ifs’ and ‘buts’ and ‘maybes’. I hope this will help someone.
When we Pray, we have the FAITH that God hears and answers according to His Will, according to 1 John 5 which states,
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15.
FEAR however, being the opposite of FAITH, will dictate that you worry and be anxious for an outcome.
FAITH directs our focus towards God and His promises, while FEAR focuses on potential negative outcomes or uncertainties.
When we have Faith, we trust in God’s goodness, sovereignty, and provision, regardless of our circumstances.
In contrast, fear fixates on what could go wrong, leading to anxiety and doubt.
FAITH responds to challenges with *trust* and confidence in God’s ability to intervene and work things out for our good.
FEAR on the other hand, responds with worry, panic, and a sense of powerlessness in the face of adversity.
Listen, *Faith is believing even when you don’t see — that’s why emotions cannot serve God — but Faith* and this is something that I have been learning in my walk with God
FAITH stems from a *belief* in God’s CHARACTER, His WORD, and His FAITHFULNESS even throughout history.
It acknowledges His POWER and Love, which enables us to trust HIM even when we cannot see the outcome.
FEAR, however, arises from a lack of trust in God and His promises. It often arises from focusing on our limitations, past failures, or the uncertainties of the future.
FAITH empowers us to overcome obstacles, persevere through trials, and experience God’s peace and joy amidst challenges.
Fear, on the other hand, paralyzes us, robs us of peace, and limits our potential. It can hinder us from stepping out in obedience to God’s call or pursuing His purposes for our lives.
As we cultivate our faith through prayer, studying God’s Word, and experiencing His faithfulness in our lives, we can gradually overcome fear and live with confidence in His love and provision
Hebrews 11 declares:
“But without Faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6.
To have faith is to be DIVINELY PERSUADED and this is the trust God desires us to have in HIM!
