Faith That Works
Today’s Bible Lesson “Faith That Works” is written to explain exactly what works has to do with Faith and what Faith has to do with Works.
To many, this is a very misunderstood and difficult teaching, yet to the one who will hear the truth taught in the Text it is very clear and understood.
There is a “God Side” to Works in relation to Faith, that all men need to understand to settle the confusion.
The “God Side” is that True Faith will always produce Works. So, Faith comes FIRST, and afterward comes the RESULT OF FAITH which is Works.
So the conclusion is that IF a Man has True Faith then Works will always follow that true Faith.
First Read the Text:
“Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” James 2:18-26.
The main point to understanding this passage of Scripture is to catch hold of what it is that PROVES A PERSON IS REALLY SAVED, and the point is addressed in V. 23. [Abraham BELIEVED GOD and it was IMPUTED TO HIM RIGHTEOUSNESS.].
The Writer of this Text under divine inspiration speaks up about Faith. He says that True Faith is always proven by Works.
In other words Works will always come AFTER ONE HAS FAITH IN GOD. This is why Abraham could say: I was saved and justified by my Works because the fact was ABRAHAM HAD FAITH.
When a person claims to be a Believer and has Faith then does not have Works to prove what he says, then that person does not really have True Faith.
Even the devil Believes in God and may even tremble at the thought of his judgment to come, but the devil does not have True Works for God, because the devil does not serve The LORD. We all know the devil has only Bad Works, because he truly does not make The LORD his lord, nor will he obediently work for him!
The devil who claims to believe, or ANYONE ELSE who does likewise, and does not have good Works, his so called faith is DEAD. The dead faith will produce no works of lasting value.
It is said of Abraham in Romans 4:2-3,
“For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.”
IT IS CLEAR THEN THAT in one place Abraham BELIEVED GOD and because of his Belief or Faith he was counted Righteous or Justified.
So considering that verse and the Text verse that says a man is JUSTIFIED BY HIS WORKS AND NOT FAITH ONLY, seems a contradiction, if not understood.
The reason is that Abraham Believed God and because he believed God he went out and worked for God. It is clearly understood in the life of Abraham that FAITH IN GOD was the reason HE WORKED.
It is totally a “Bible Truth” to say: ONE WHO HAS TRUE FAITH IN GOD WILL ALWAYS WORK.
It is totally false to say: ONE WHO WORKS WILL ALWAYS HAVE FAITH.
The fact is many turn around the meaning and put Works in front of Faith.
The Truth of Salvation given by GRACE THROUGH FAITH ALONE… “WITHOUT WORKS” is clearly stated in Ephesians 2:8-9-10, where it says it:
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”
The Scripture go on in V. 10 to say:
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
It would then be VAIN, and the Word of the Text even says so, that if a man has not works his Faith is dead.
The Scripture Text says: “As the body without the Spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also”.
Then just as real as the body will die without the spirit, so faith is dead without works . True Faith will live and work forever, because his work is based in Faith.
A dead Faith will never produce any real or lasting works.
This Text then becomes a text that proves Salvation is by Faith without works. Works can never produce Faith.
See this Added Scripture to prove where TRUE FAITH COMES FROM [IF NOT BY WORKS]:
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17.
True faith always comes from believing The Word of God.

I have written this Teaching in Obedience to my Holy Spirit Teacher.
LORD help your people know that Faith comes by The Word of God, and that all who HAVE FAITH will WORK, not to be saved but…. “because they are saved.”

All this can short and easily be explained in a few words just as Rom 10:17 says:
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”
Because only by hearing the voice of the Father AND then obey Him will produce the faith ( that He requires.
There is a misunderstanding that “faith” means to only believe like you can believe or not believe that something “´exist or not exist, like an opinion but the word means faithfullness and obedience. You cannot be faithfull without obedience and you cannot obey without faithfullness. Every believer must be aware of that we came into this evil world because of disobedience to God’s commandments and (spiritual) laws and we cannot leave it in the same disobedience. The “Grace” of God is that we now have the second chance to obey Him.
Praise God for the great gift of faith he has given me.
thank you for helping me to understand a little better
