Faith in the Western & Coptic Churches
One of the things I find common in the Western Church are Christians who struggle in their walk with Christ.
Their reasons are many, but the truth is that environment plays a huge role in this. The simple fact is, we just have it too easy.
So it’s easy for us to complain, and therefore it’s easy for us to get distracted. Our cares are simply placed too much in this world; people, reputations, technology, wealth, power, education, etc.
Unfortunately, technology has replaced faith in many of our lives. The more gadgets we depend on, the less we step out in faith, the more pills we take, the less we believe for our deliverance and healing.
The more things are handed to us, the less we seek God. And many times I have stated that if we cannot live for Christ today, we won’t be able to die for Him tomorrow.
Although we are in the world, Jesus said we are not to be of it. In other words, don’t become byproducts of your environment…..
Many westerners argue about going through the tribulation verses being raptured, but these same people would freak out if the drive-thru at their favorite fast food place closes early.
Some would die because they wouldn’t be able to get their sixty-six prescriptions at the local pharmacy, while others would simply take the *mark, because their survival skills, along with their faith became dormant due to everything being handed to them on a silver platter.
Today I read that the Coptic Christians in Egypt said that they were proud to die for their savior. They said if we don’t defeat them (ISIS) in life, we will defeat them in our death, because there is only one God, and Jesus the Messiah is God.
Now whatever you want to believe about the “coptic” Christian is neither here nor there. But I must say, you will not find this kind of faith in America.
Well, perhaps a light here and there, but the ratio of those who would stand in such faith unto death, compared to those who would squeal is deafening.
However, the truth is, we will see such catastrophes in this nation before the great catching away. And arguing about “when” is not going to prepare you any more than those who say, simply believing in God will get you into heaven.
The only way you can prepare is by completely surrendering to the Spirit of The LORD and His purpose for your life.
Remember, the young, rich man kept the commandments of the Torah, and he lived an honorable life. But when Jesus told him to sell everything he had, and then walk away from his family (when He said, “Come follow Me”), well…. he couldn’t do that, could he?
And don’t forget that the Pharisees kept all the laws of the Torah and the ceremonial cleansing; yet Jesus said, “Unless your righteousness supersedes that of the Pharisees, you will not see the Kingdom of Heaven.”
*Mark – the mark of the beast – see Revelation 13:16-17, 14:9,11, 15:2, 16:2, 19:20, 20:24.
