Experience without Limitations
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call,” Joel 2:28-32.
When it is said that revival is coming to a certain people, in a certain place merely, that is just good information of course, which many Christian would want to hear; revival is coming their way!
But Revival don’t just come, it is brought in.
There are people who are carriers of revival fire and others who are the dry wood and who have undergone prior preparation, to be fuel.
These people were just like others in their confusion, but they chose the hard path of transformation, and true change of heart. Subsequently, they became the first to welcome repentance and holiness, and will determine the nature and destiny of that revival.
And as they pursue the demands of that revival, hearts will go aflame. On the contrary, people who just talk about it, somehow never prepare for it. They are at the door, waiting for someone they need, but won’t welcome.
The information about the goodness of the LORD, is good, but it is meant to lead you to repentance and holiness which are the fuel for fire for any desired blessing.
Let us look at Acts 2:1-5. A group of people decided to forsake the normal. They gathered in an upper room, praying, and undergoing preparation from united hearts, when suddenly the Holy Ghost comes and shakes the room.
Each one singled out and filled in the Holy Ghost. The events that followed are a phenomenon.
in the world today, there are things that bring excitement, we see it in the movies and Olympics. But once a person is excited by the gymnastics involved, a warning is footnoted on the screen warning the audience, “not to try what they see at home.”
The result is joy with limitations, denying you the privilege of experiencing the real thing.
The results from the coming upon of the Holy Spirit must demonstrate a different life, which is the life of God and His power, worked by a believer. What was noised abroad, was the coming of the Holy Spirit, but more to do with the signs that followed those who were candidates of the outpouring.
To put it another way, it was the results from the experience. These were salvation of souls, signs of tongues, healings and massive addition to the number of believers.
Coming of the Holy Spirit
“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
The Crowd’s Response
“And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven,” Acts 2:1-5.
