One of the occupational hazards of living successfully in the Kingdom is envy.

When someone is envious, the seeds of murder are in their heart.

Envy tries to kill and sabotage someone’s destiny.

Envy killed Abel.

Envy tried to kill King David.

Envy tried to kill the prophet Daniel.

Envy killed Jesus.

Envy is the internal pain we feel over someone else’s success. When someone succeeds before we do, we feel pain.

We interpret it negatively. We feel cut short or cut down and James says that envy is bitter.

The best cure for envy is to know who you are in Christ and to trust His timing.

When you can celebrate and champion someone’s success, then you know you have a right heart. Envy no longer has a hold on you.
