It is a very interesting story indeed that the Scriptures tell about Elijah during the time of NO RAIN. It seems clear that Elijah had done his praying and proclaiming the judgment upon the evil Ahab’s day and Jezebel’s sexual and perverse, groves of false worship. The judgment had fallen upon the land and there was NO RAIN. People began to suffer. The controlling powers of the Jezebel spirit could DO NOTHING to stop what Elijah had set in motion. The worshipers of the sexual god in the Groves could not throw enough babies into the fire to cause their god to bring rain. The heavens were shut up.

This picture the Lord has given us is so comforting right now. We hear the Word of the Lord coming to Elijah and he said:

1 KINGS 17:2-6
“² And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,
³ Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
⁴ And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.
⁵ So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.
⁶ And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.”

Nothing could be better for this man of God at the very time that everyone was hurting, because of lack of cool rain and blanched crops that would not grow, causing men’s stomachs to rub their backbone in hunger….. to see a large black raven flying in with a big beef steak and his companion bringing bread. Oh what a joy to see the table set in the wilderness with good food and to hear that babbling of the Brook Cherith with fresh cool water! At the very time that the world of evil men was hurting, Elijah fared sumptuously on meat and bread and cool water!

Is God able said someone, to set a table in the wilderness? And the answer comes back, YES. GOD IS ABLE.

Now nothing was troubling to Elijah except the thought that judgment was happening over there, but he was perfectly safe and well fed. This brings us to understand that this scripture story does become PROPHETIC TO THE END TIMES. During the time that the Tribulation comes upon the earth we see GOD CAN HIDE THE FAITHFUL AT A BROOK AND FEED HIM SUPERNATURALLY.

Many talk about a rapture as being the only way out, but they overlook that God is able in the midst of the storm to take care of his own. In reality a rapture could not be better than a wilderness hiding place with birds bringing food! Certainly this gives great comfort as we predict coming judgments of the days of Tribulation.

Then we must reflect also, that all those who had sold out to the wicked perversion of Baal worship were not there at the brook Cherith. They did not have any ravens nor did they have any water. Suffering for sure. They cried out, WHO TROUBLES ISRAEL? WHO HAS CAUSED THIS TROUBLE? Well as usual, they blamed someone else rather than themselves. Looking for the culprit who had done it, finally they narrowed down their search to Elijah (The God believer who PRAYED!). How horrible they said, Why that is Judging! That is a hate crime for sure that caused him to say, NO RAIN FOR 3 1/2 YEARS. Arrest him, bring him in and fine him. Put him in Jail. The only problem was that they couldn’t find him. Search as they did, still he was hidden and well fed.

If that isn’t enough miracle day, consider further that God told Elijah after a while to leave the Brook Cherith and go down to the widow at Zarephath and He would sustain him there, along with the widow and her son. You know the story, (1 Kings 17:7-24), how the widow had only enough food for one meal for her and her son, but at the word of the Man of God she baked him the cake and then went and baked for herself and her son. The meal in the barrel did multiply every day and they ate well and were happy. Then the widows son died and the power of God was manifest again through the Man of God when he raised him from the dead and gave her son back to the widow. RESURRECTION POWER MANIFESTED AND DEAD COMING OUT OF GRAVES!!!!! What A DAY OF MIRACLES for sure!

Now I say this, God will do it again. It will bring much more glory to God to have his people here on this earth and protect living in power and glory than even to have them home. God will use his people to add to the testing. Yes, even though it will be days of great testing of God’s People, yet the faithful will be blessed and stand in a power and strength that will defy the devil and all his cohorts!

***(((Supernatural days of protection are upon us.)))*** A day such as the world has never seen before. It was bad in Elijah’s day, but his day pales to the coming days of the End Times. The scriptures tell us that those days will be perilous times and that unless those days were shortened, even the elect would be deceived. Matter fact, it says that it will be WORSE THAN ALL THE OTHER DAYS OF TROUBLE. Yet in the midst of these days, GOD CAN. HE CAN SET A TABLE IN THE WILDERNESS.

If you think about the Bible record, Elijah was 3 and 1/2 years living in protection and well fed up till the time he fled at the wrath of Jezebel. I said JEZEBEL’S WRATH. Yes there was a Day of Wrath which was worse, and Elijah ran away. I have always wondered why Elijah stood the test at his altar of Fire the day he defeated 450 Baal prophets, than turned and ran from one evil woman. Well, The answer does come in loud and clear when you consider that Elisha received a double portion when Elijah was taken up! Elijah was taken up into heaven (CAUGHT UP) and was seen in a Flaming Chariot….. But before Elijah was caught up he CAST DOWN HIS MANTLE WITH A DOUBLE ANOINTING!!! WOW. More power for sure, more. Say MORE.

Well if you are looking for a Rapture, why not see it there, then look at Elisha with double power going and doing twice as much as Elijah had done. Elijah was at the beginning half and Elisha in the final. Elisha was a Remnant of MIGHTY MEN. The Scriptures tell us that they CAN NOT BE HURT OR KILLED and will go out to preach the Kingdom of Heaven.

Well just some comfort for all you who are entering into a time of great judgments. It appears that there are coming upon us A TIME OF NO RAIN AND FOOD. Just a note to comfort you now, GOD CAN feed you and give you water in a dry and desert land, and when the very worst comes, then GOD CAN do the impossible with DOUBLE PORTION MIRACLES.

GOD CAN!

Hang on, all you Elijah’s who believe God and STAND. Look for your Brook Cherith and your Ravens! Expect and know that all is well with your soul, because……………. YOUR GOD CAN!

PSALM 78:19-20
“¹⁹ Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?
²⁰ Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?”

REVELATION 12:11-17
“¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
¹² Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
¹³ And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
¹⁴ And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
¹⁵ And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
¹⁶ And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
¹⁷ And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
