Earning Salvation?

Earning Salvation?
Typically we value most those things which we have earned through hard work and the sweat of our brows. Those things which are given to us at no cost are devalued.
We reason “If it cost nothing then it must be worth nothing.”
Yet God has turned this logic completely upside down. We can spend a lifetime working with all the energy we can muster only to find that it is still not good enough to earn salvation and eternal life.
He has given freely that which we cannot earn. He sets life and death before us and simply declares, “choose.” To the strong, independent, self-made man this is foolishness.
These conclude, “No one puts their faith in something they have not reasoned with their own minds or built with their own hands.” To the weak, the feeble and those who have given up hope this extravagant gift is almost beyond comprehension.
What we are given the opportunity to accept freely cost the giver everything. Jesus laid down His life on YOUR behalf so that you can receive all the things which are most desirable.
You cannot earn this salvation. You cannot purchase the peace that it brings. Your pile of self-help books cannot compare to even one word of God help.
Let go of human logic which reasons that if it was not earned it is not worth having. Put your faith in Jesus knowing that you bring nothing of value to the equation, save surrender.
Will you lay down, without conditions, the life you have built for yourself to receive freely the life He has for you?

We Were Made to WORSHIP!
We were created to live in communion with the One True God; the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
Our Father wants relationship with each one of His children.
He desires it so greatly that He sent His only Son as a sacrifice for our inequity.
Through Christ Jesus we are invited into communion with Him.
