A Dry River Bed
I heard these words – “dry river bed”, asked the Lord what He wanted to say about it, and heard the still small voice…
“Portions of My church have remained a dry river bed. The arrogance of man has risen and risen to an all time high. The nature of pride is such that it brings barrenness. Barrenness in emotions, in marriages, in finances, in health, in spirituality; every part of life. Leviathan lays waste to the lives of so many in this hour. Jezebelic pride, and narcissism are rampant as I have told you it would be.
“1 BUT UNDERSTAND this, that in the last days will come (set in) perilous times of great stress and trouble [hard to deal with and hard to bear].
2 For people will be lovers of self and [utterly] self-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate [greedy] desire for wealth, proud and arrogant and contemptuous boasters. They will be abusive (blasphemous, scoffing), disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane.
3 [They will be] without natural [human] affection (callous and inhuman), relentless (admitting of no truce or appeasement); [they will be] slanderers (false accusers, troublemakers), intemperate and loose in morals and conduct, uncontrolled and fierce, haters of good.
4 [They will be] treacherous [betrayers], rash, [and] inflated with self-conceit. [They will be] lovers of sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather than lovers of God” (2 Timothy 3:1-4).
The River of God in many churches has dried up, leaving a people who do what they think is best, and not really adhering or caring what I think is best. I however am Faithful, even when man is not faithful. I AM faithful to My promises. Thus in the midst of the darkness encompassing the earth, will I pour out My river of love upon the dry and thirsty ground of My church.
Not all will accept what I do, but that is not your concern. It is MY concern, and I will deal with the opposition. Abundant LIFE will come to those who are humble. The arrogant and prideful will be humbled. Those still abusive to others, and self centered and spiteful and arrogant towards those they think less of, will be overcome with their own ways.
“He turns a wilderness into a pool of water and a dry ground into water springs,” Psalm 107:35.
“I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water,” Isaiah 41:18 NKJV.
“You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces, & gave him as food to the people inhabiting the wilderness. 15 You broke open the fountain and the flood; You dried up mighty rivers,” Psalm 74:14-15 NKJV.
I AM able to fill you up, or dry you up. I made Pharoah’s will barren to My will to show My mighty power. I can bring springs in the desert, and I can dry up river beds. If you want life, then you must seek ME. I AM the author of LIFE. I AM the Source for all you need. YOU MUST COME TO ME if you want to make it through the days ahead. You need My Wisdom, not just your own. Though I have given you wisdom, you are dependent on Me to receive it.
“He turns rivers into a wilderness, And the watersprings into dry ground; 34 A fruitful land into barrenness, For the wickedness of those who dwell in it. 35 He turns a wilderness into pools of water, And dry land into watersprings,” Psalm 107:33-35 NKJV.
Know that my intention is to pour out on the dry ground a flood of My glory, that it will fill the earth and make MY NAME glorious. Too many these days are trying to make a name for themselves rather than giving glory to MY NAME. Bitterness has filled many a heart and the church is not treating the walking wounded. How will I have a spotless bride out of a dry river bed?
Only if I rend the heavens and pour out My Holy Spirit, will there be hope for the nations. So place your hope in ME! Seek ME with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength, and I will not disappoint you. Ask for the grace to do it. Everything you are and need comes from ME.
You are My precious possession, so don’t think that though the death of the saints is precious in My sight, that I want that for you. I died for you. I broke every curse, but mankind has become as in the days of Noah, a stench and will I ignore this?
Will I not rescue those who put their trust in Me? Evil will not stop till it is fulfilled, but You are to be salt and light to the world. You are to be a city set on a hill, giving light to the earth. Many were eliminated in Gideon’s time due to fear and carnality. But those who put ALL of their trust in the Lord will never be forsaken.
I have called you to rule and reign with ME in the age to come. SPEAK FORTH MY WORDS and trumpet what you hear in your ears, for I come quickly and I will be holding My glittering sword in My hand. There is NONE like ME. I will ride through the earth and I will reap a great harvest if you will worship and declare MY WORDS more than your own.
Enter in to My courts with PRAISE, and know that I will inhabit your praises and I will destroy every chain that has bound you. I WILL DO A MARVELOUS WORK in your time. Be unafraid of he who intimidates, and tries to control, for I AM is in control. I WILL TAKE MY STAND ON THE EARTH. So hold to your convictions, and do not move from the narrow path.”
See Psalm 1
“Look upon Zion, the city of our appointed feasts;
Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a quiet home, A tabernacle that will not be taken down; Not one of its stakes will ever be removed, Nor will any of its cords be broken. 21 But there the majestic Lord will be for us A place of broad rivers and streams, In which no galley with oars will sail, Nor majestic ships pass by 22 (For the Lord is our Judge, The Lord is our Lawgiver, The Lord is our King,” Isaiah 33:20-22 NKJV.
“There will be on every high mountain and on every high hill Rivers and streams of waters, In the day of the great slaughter, When the towers fall. 26 Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun will be sevenfold, As the light of seven days, In the day that the Lord binds up the bruise of His people and heals the stroke of their wound,” Isaiah 30:25-26 NKJV.
“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert. 20 The beast of the field will honor Me, The jackals and the ostriches, Because I give waters in the wilderness And rivers in the desert, To give drink to My people, My chosen. 21 This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise,” Isaiah 43:19-21 NKJV.
“For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring; 4 They will spring up among the grass Like willows by the watercourses.’ 5 One will say, ‘I am the Lord’s’; Another will call himself by the name of Jacob; Another will write with his hand, ‘The Lord’s,’ And name himself by the name of Israel,” Isaiah 44:3-5 NKJV.
“Then he said to me: “This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed. 9 And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes. 10 It shall be that fishermen will stand by it from En Gedi to En Eglaim; they will be places for spreading their nets. Their fish will be of the same kinds as the fish of the Great Sea, exceedingly many. 11 But its swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be given over to salt. 12 Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for medicine,” Ezekiel 47:8-12 NKJV.
“A PRAYER of Habakkuk the prophet, set to wild, enthusiastic, and triumphal music. 2 O Lord, I have heard the report of You and was afraid. O Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make [Yourself] known! In wrath [earnestly] remember love, pity, and mercy.
3 God [approaching from Sinai] came from Teman [which represents Edom] and the Holy one from Mount Paran [in the Sinai region]. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! His glory covered the heavens and the earth was full of His praise. 4 And His brightness was like the sunlight; rays streamed from His hand, and there [in the sunlike splendor] was the hiding place of His power.
5 Before Him went the pestilence [as in Egypt], and burning plague followed His feet [as in Sennacherib’s army]. [Exodus 7:2-4; 2 Kings 19:32-35.] 6 He stood and measured the earth; He looked and shook the nations, and the eternal mountains were scattered and the perpetual hills bowed low. His ways are everlasting and His goings are of old. 7 I [Habakkuk, in vision] saw the tents of Cushan [probably Ethiopia] in affliction; the [tent] curtains of the land of Midian trembled.
8 Were You displeased with the rivers, O Lord? Or was Your anger against the rivers [You divided]? Was Your wrath against the [Red] Sea, that You rode [before] upon Your horses and Your chariots of victory and deliverance?
9 Your bow was made quite bare; sworn to the tribes [of Israel] by Your sure word were the rods of chastisement, scourges, and calamities. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! With rivers You cleaved the earth [bringing forth waters in dry places]. [Exodus 17:6; Numbers 20:11.]
10 The mountains saw You; they trembled and writhed [as if in pain]. The overflowing of the water passed by [as at the deluge]; the deep uttered its voice and lifted its hands on high. 11 The sun and moon stood back [as before Joshua] in their habitation at the light of Your arrows as they sped, at the flash of Your glittering spear. [Joshua 10:12,13.] 12 You marched through the land in indignation; You trampled and threshed the nations in anger.
13 You went forth and have come for the salvation of Your people, for the deliverance and victory of Your anointed [people Israel]; You smote the head of the house of the wicked, laying bare the foundation even to the neck. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! 14 You pierced with his own arrows the head of [the enemy’s] hordes; they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me [the people], rejoicing as if to devour the poor [Israel] secretly.
15 You have trodden the sea with Your horses, [beside] the heap of great and surging waters. [Exodus 15:8.]
16 I heard and my [whole inner self] trembled; my lips quivered at the sound. Rottenness enters into my bones and under me [down to my feet]; I tremble. I will wait quietly for the day of trouble and distress when there shall come up against [my] people him who is about to invade and oppress them. 17 Though the fig tree does not blossom and there is no fruit on the vines, [though] the product of the olive fails and the fields yield no food, though the flock is cut off from the fold and there are no cattle in the stalls, 18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will exult in the [victorious] God of my salvation! [Romans 8:37.]
19 The Lord God is my Strength, my personal bravery, and my invincible army; He makes my feet like hinds’ feet and will make me to walk [not to stand still in terror, but to walk] and make [spiritual] progress upon my high places [of trouble, suffering, or responsibility]!,” Habakkuk 3 AMP.
