Dream: Moving from the Old Things of the Past!
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert” Isaiah 43:19.
A few months back, God gave me a dream. Within the dream there was a young man that I knew very well from my high school years. We were walking along a side walk in a neighborhood and he and some more friends were following behind me as he was trying to talk with me or get my attention.
Also, in the dream, his appearance, his dress, and his hair were the same as in our past high school years. Also, I noticed that the young man seemed to have a green shield or aura around him. I sensed that we were back in those years. But what was so noticeable and at the same time in the dream, my appearance in the dream is how I look right now in the present time for today.
There was more in the dream, but the main concept of the dream is that I was thinking, “How am I seeing him as being in high school and my appearance is for this present time?” The young man continued to follow me down the sidewalk as I came up to a family members house who has passed on, but the young man continued to follow me; and, by this time my husband came into the dream and so the young man asked my husband who was also in his present state, “Can I talk with her?” and my husband said “No.” And so we continued on into the house.
But the young man stayed outside in the yard from a distance and was looking through a window as if something was holding him back from coming into the house (end of dream).
The dream was really vivid and I knew that it had spiritual meaning because it was really clear and I could remember much detail and the main concept of the dream. Then recently, God begin to bring the dream up over and over again. So I wanted to know what the dream meant and the Lord simply spoke and said,
“Do not continue to suppress the present with the things of the past by holding on to the things that connect to yesterday and the past. The things that I am about to bring forth are new and resembles nothing of the past and has not been seen before. Yesterday is gone and each day is a brand new day” (Isaiah 43:19).
… As I meditated on the dream, God gave me that my husband represented spiritual authority and the green around the young man was representative of the enemy. In the dream, spiritual authority was used against the young man. This is why the young man could come no further after he was told “No.” God will give us discernment to recognize that the enemy is trying to keep us connected to the past in order that we be out of the current flow and move of God.
Recognize the enemy when he tries to hold us back by using our spiritual authority to keep the enemy at a distance by submitting to the lord and rebuking the enemy and telling him… “No”! (James 4:7).
He is using past connections and past emotions and people from our past as a distraction and hindrance to progression in the things of the spirit of God. We shouldn’t allow our past to follow us around. Get rid of it! Even the house that I had gone to belonged to my aunt who passed on some years ago. The house is no longer there so I don’t know why was still visiting. But I was still going to that house for some reason. This shows we need to stop revisiting and thinking on the things of the past and press toward the mark of the high call in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13).
This dream is for each of us individually and to the body of Christ as a whole. As individuals, some of us are holding on to past mindsets, ideas, hurts, situations, and circumstances that may have happened in our lives. We are still clinging on to past emotions and memories that are connecting us to our past. We cannot go to higher levels in the Lord spiritually and progress in the things of the lord while holding onto people, things and connections of yesterday.
Some people, connections things in our past we need to say “no” to because they are not good for us. They will only bring us down spiritually the more we look back and hold on to them. Just as Lot’s wife wanted to look back and hold on to the things of Sodom and Gomorrah while God was trying to rescue them and bring them out of their bad situation. She chose to look back and missed the new territory and blessings that God had for her outside of the city (Genesis 19:26). Looking back will cause us to miss out on our future! God wants to do something new in and for us!
To the body of Christ:
“No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. Otherwise, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins” Luke 5:36-38.
The church is stagnant and is not progressing because it is also holding on to past mindsets by continuously trying to put “new wine in old wine skins.” It continues to want God to move as He did in the past while God is trying to take it to brand new levels and its respected position in the world.
The reason the church is not positioned with flow and the power of God is because it is too busy flowing with the desires and greed of the world. The glory of the present universal church should be more glorious than the former. In that, we should be seeing greater works and power than the church of today than we saw in the church of yesterday. But on the contrary, the church is not positioned for the new move that God is about to manifest because it has adopted its own agendas, programs, and visions for man and not God.
The church is no longer on a mission for making disciples of man. Instead, it is too busy making men servants for their own materialism and greed, purposes and plans. This is not every individual local body of Christ, but the church as whole is not yet with “one accord.”
“Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven’“ Hebrews 12:26.
With all of the changes that are going on in the world, God is the one doing the shaking and shifting of spiritual and natural foundations through events and situations within the world. The time is now that the body of Christ both individually and corporately prepare for God to move in the earth as it has never been seen before.
We are looking for God to move one way, and He is going a totally different way than what we are expecting. God is doing a new thing and is manifesting forth a new and fresh way of moving in the earth. And, if we are not in tuned and frequency with the Lord, we will miss out on the greatest move of god ever known to mankind. Spiritually, it is time to do away with the old things of the past and get ready for the new thing that god is manifesting in the earth!
“‘The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former,’ saith the LORD of hosts: ‘and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts'” Haggai 2:9.
