Don’t Steal God’s Glory!

Don’t Steal God’s Glory!
Get rid of Ishmael! Let go the thief! May our God receive All the Glory for what He does to us, what he has done and what He will ever do!
God’s people seek His intervention. They call on him and God answers them, sometimes even before they call, He comes through.
But there is a glory thief to be watchful, a thief who was unable to still your blessings. Now this thief is going for the testimony, to steal the testimony. He can have you twist what God has done, to testify as if it is flesh and human wisdom that has achieved it. This is stealing the glory!
This glory thief accesses the storehouse of warriors, intercessors, prophets and all those serving God, in probably higher capacity, yes even in any capacity.
Listen though, a move of God is unstoppable. It will flare up, and Satan cannot do anything about it, no matter what he tries. However, he can introduce other businesses and false fires to divert the attentions of men from God to other things, within same move, same miracles, same increase.
Satan has away of making the believers be unbelievers of God’s voice. In Revelation 5:12, we see the 24 elders and the multitudes praising in Hallelujah of victory, and what do they say. They say The Lamb is worthy to receive the power, strength, the wisdom, the riches, the honor, blessings and GLORY.
The world today look for all the Seven “goodness”, the problem however, is one, they cannot get these things away from God. This glory belongs to God, everywhere glory is showcased, it has to be God receiving it.
Let us learn further! God is blessing you, but perhaps you are busy acknowledging the wrong person. You are ascribing greatness to the lesser, the creature who is the illegitimate one the usurper sometimes you probably do not want to offend the system, you know, politically correct mindset. But It is at the place of testimony that, Jesus is LORD of your life.
You do not just believe Him enough for a miracle, but more so even better to thank Him, to tell the sceptical that it is the doing of the LORD. It is He after all. Say it and defeat the thief. I say this because some forces follow to kill you after your miracle. They would want to gag you, they want to kill the testifying tongue…..
But you should not stop. You should not allow them to shut you down. Shout even more and enthrone the king. Subject the enemy to thorough Shame!
David in Psalms 27:1-3, said “The LORD is my light and my salvation, who shall I fear, the LORD is the strength of my life who shall I be afraid, when the wicked came against me to eat my flesh, my foes and my enemies , they stumbled and fell.” King David saw the importance of moving with God to battle.
He walked with men of great military ability, men of renown, even with all these mighty men protecting him King David still was acknowledging God as the real Protection. He was careful not to lift men to the place reserved for God either by his words or deed.
In the circumstances that moved David to pen Psalm 27, we find a moving story, a military war scenario. David was hedged in by the adversary, completely cut off…. it could have been disaster.
One of the sons of Goliath, Ishibenob, came that close, and was about to strike David from behind, to kill him, to end his military prowess and to extinguish the Light of Israel, thereby the sheep would scatter and defeat to the LORD’s Army. But Abishai, son of Zeruiah, one of the Mighty appeared just in time before Goliath could do David in, and he killed this son of Goliath, thus “saving” David’s Life, (2 Samuel 21:17).
Then later, after this, his advisers asked him to not go to war next time, rather to stay in the stronghold, lest the “light of Israel be extinguished.” He was indeed the light. Look again what David’s men advised, 2 Samuel 21:17, “Then the men of David swore to him, saying, “You shall go out no more with us to battle, lest you quench the lamp ( Light ) of Israel.”
I am baffled how David reacted to that in Psalm 27. He talked to God. He defended his position in God. He said he is still strong and he said “He is my Light.” It was like he was talking to those who thought he (David) is the light of Israel, telling them NO; the LORD is my Light, pointing out that the LORD is the Light of Israel, so he, David, was only a mirror, that reflected same light to the Land. How he was very careful not to take the glory!
Much more still, he said, his enemies stumbles and falls. The truth of the matter is, in human context, David virtually used human resource in battles to win wars. He used his sword as well as the swords of his men. When the son of Goliath fell, he did not just stumble, no it was Abishai, David’s bodyguard who struck him! So to “save” the King’s life.
This is deep! Deep in that David has and amazing heart towards God. He does not mention Abishai in Psalms 27 by his name, however he singles out God as the Light. Yes his Light and the only one who is able to make the enemy to stumble and confound them.
Abishai would later be recognized and promoted to the top three mighty ones. But the glory from what he did would be God’s. David wrote about this.
Many pray for God to give them a heart like David, a heart after God’s heart. But they do not know what kind of this heart David had. He had just amazing heart. He was “like the angel of God”, as those who were close to him, called him, (2 Samuel 19:27). Indeed he was like an angel of God parenthetically, as relates to his heart alignment.
The flesh hates God. Flesh hates what God wants and flesh refuses to acknowledge what God has done. Flesh will always claim to be and will always claim to have something it is helping you with. When God has singled you for inheritances, flesh too would want to inherit it with you.
Ishmael is not catered for, according to the original promise. He was not originally the promised one, never will he be. But look what Haggar did – she positioned her son to also receive from Abraham. And the more they stayed around the legitimate son, the more they persecuted Isaac. They had to leave, lest they attached themselves to Isaac’s portion. They were the glory thieves!
You only have too look around and see that if Ishmael could have managed equal share with Isaac, the sons of the bondwoman (Islam), could be really glorying and spiritually bargaining as same entity to Isaac.
OK, they do still, but what if the Bible qualified what they are doing? But this is how we are. We operate in the a little bit of God and a little bit of flesh. We accumulate around us things that usurp God’s glory.
No, we have to get rid of what is inform of human wisdom, skills or pride that trivialise God after He has given us the blessings. We have to allow God’s fire to test and correct us. And this is when we say no to the flesh no to the thief.
Prayer! Prayer! Prayer!
The LORD almost does nothing, unless people pray.
Jesus taught the disciples how to pray. He would later on rebuke them for not praying and fasting as the reason, as to why they could not cast demons.
When the LORD talked to the Father, He was actually praying. He scheduled prayer all the night. He had a life of prayer. He managed to still stand as a man of prayer in his busy engagements.
All the major visitations in the Land of Israel started with prayer. You remember when they were in Egypt and it came a time for them to be liberated from slavery, the LORD had to respond to their cry those cries were prayers going to heaven?
God looked for human agency for the task it was after prayers. They had to agree with Him on what he was about to do. That is prayer.
Daniel the Prophet, learned the years determined by prophet Jeremiah concerning Israel Captivity in Babylon then he went and closed himself facing Jerusalem and prayed for the release of the captives. It was God’s time but had to be birthed through prayers by one man of the hour.
Prophet Samuel called it a sin if he would not be praying for Israel.
Could it be that in this end-time dispensation, God is about to do something new really big that will forever change the history of mankind?
Could it be that we are at the crossroads?
In your family, in your church or in your Nation, there is something to cry for, and it is you to travail about it in prayer. You can begin God’s new plan by your availability to pray.
