Don’t just say you are sorry!
DON’T SAY YOU’RE SORRY!
REPENT!!!
AND YOU WON’T DO IT AGAIN!
“After you are saved, you are to move on and get past the elementary stage in the teachings and doctrine of salvation, advancing steadily toward the completeness and perfection that belong to spiritual maturity. Do not again keep laying the foundation of repentance, because once you repent, you won’t do it again, Hebrews 6:1-3.
Some repentance foundations would be a hundred feet deep if this were possible. If you knew the meaning of repent, you would understand why I say you can only do it once for each issue. The truth is; repentance is a one time deal per issue! If you say I’m sorry, you are not repenting! Repent means to completely change your mind, with or without tears, and with or without emotion!
If you are living in adultery and repent, it means you changed your mind about shacking up and you either get married or separate. If you repent of holding a grudge, it means yo go make up. Repentance is simple to understand but much harder to do. Repent is the action of making a 180 degree turn and walking the other way!
If you continue in a sin you say you have repented of, you did not repent, you felt sorry and momentarily wanted to quit, shed some tears, but then made a mental excuse to continue on a path of disobedience and death. Unless every one changes their mind about their sinful condition your all going to perish! Luke 13:5.
If you are having a problem repenting, and can’t really change your mind, but instead keep saying I’m sorry over and over again, then you are just making excuses to live after your flesh. No matter what your excuse if you live after the flesh, you will die: but if you through the Spirit do sincerely change your mind about the sins you are committing with your body, you will live, Romans 8:13
Don’t keep crying over your gossiping, lusting, sexual sins, hidden sins, bitterness, resentment, temper, unforgiveness, filthy conversation, lack of faith, or lousy attitude, change your mind and stop it, before it kills you, Colossians 3:5.
Don’t say you tried and you can’t! You can do all things through Me because I will strengthen you for the task! Philippians 4:13.
Face it: if you keep saying you are sorry and crying over the same sins, you are stuck on the foundation of basic repentance and cannot grow in your walk with Me. You will die there and those who who follow you will die there also! If not for your sake, change your mind for their sake!
The next time you hear My voice it may sound like this; “Daddy/ Mommy – I thought you said you weren’t going to do that any more”?
