Doing things differently this season
One of our dear widows we have working in our office sent this to me today:
“Chuck always says bowling is a spiritual game. I have to admit; sometimes I wish it was just a bowling game. But I trust Chuck, so if he says it spiritual, then I try to see the spiritual part of it. He had also said recently that God was going to start speaking to us in parables.
A couple of weeks ago our bowling team bowled Chuck’s team. We bowl 3 games. I was bowling really badly on my last game after bowling 170+ my second game. I was doing the same thing, but getting a very different result. Chuck told me to change balls. When he started talking to me I felt the anointing on what he was saying. Then God said to pay attention because Chuck was speaking to me in a parable. He said for me to throw my spare ball (that ball is used for picking up usually corner pins that are left after you throw your strike ball). The ball goes directly straight. He then said, “Sylvia, sometimes you need to do something different to change things up for a while until you can get back on track and hit your target again.” Logically, you would never throw your spare ball first. However, I listened and changed balls and ended my third game well.
The Lord started revealing to me something. We must do something differently when what we have been doing is this season, is no longer working to break us through.
We should think, how can I do something different and unexpected which will surprise the enemy and shake him up, and cause me to prosper?
Go to a movie, watch a TV series all day, go shopping for something you normally would not buy…. Just stop what you’re doing and listen to God and do something different and unexpected until you can get back on track.
I am trying to remember that is not by power, or by might, but by His Spirit. Actually, then it gets to be fun to do the different thing! Oh, by the way; the next week when we bowled, I did poorly on my first game, so I switched up by using my spare bowl on the second game and I did better. On the last game, I went back to my strike ball and finished with a 178. So with my handicap added in I was well over 250.
God is good! I won the high pot for the day!”
