Do you Know: Love is Not Safe?
Love is not safe. Sometimes it lands us on the receiving end of hurt and rejection.
True love means trusting someone with enough ammunition to shoot us down while trusting our Father to protect us in the places we need it most.
Jesus’ love did not lead Him to safety. It led Him to a tree where He suffered and died. Yet it is His true and perfect love that set us free. Where would we without His love?
True, love is not always safe but we are not called to count the cost. Besides, how could we possibly weigh it against the priceless sacrifice that was made on our behalf?
We have the choice to remain behind our walls of protection.
However, as long as we hide we will never find our true selves. We will isolate our brothers and sisters and even our Father.
We will never have the kind of intimate relationships we need so desperately.
In hiding we never find the answer to that question we have always been dying to know, “Am I worthy to receive unconditional love?”
