Do You Need It Cooked Or Fresh? JESUS Has Both For You!
JESUS Provided A Fire of Coals, And Fish Laid On It, And Bread, And Fresh Large Fish — all at once!
For the third time after His Resurrection, THE LORD JESUS CHRIST appeared to His disciples (seven of them this time) by the sea and provided their needs — cooked as well as fresh.
The disciples had gone fishing one night and caught nothing. (This was different from the previous, similar situation in Luke 5 when THE LORD arranged the great catch of fish for Peter before calling him and his colleagues to follow Him to catch men for GOD).
On this occasion, by His Divine Power, THE LORD had already provided a fire of coals, and fish laid on it, and bread for the seven disciples, unbeknownst to them.
Then He commanded them to cast the net on the right side of the boat. They did, and caught 153 large fish. Yet the net did not break.
When they drew the catch ashore, THE LORD told them to bring some of the fish they had just caught.
And then, THE SWEET JESUS served them breakfast. By the sea. (Oh, JESUS knows how to lay it on for us!).
“After these things Jesus showed Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and in this way He showed Himself: Simon Peter, Thomas called the Twin, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples were together. Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. But when the morning had now come, JESUS stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was JESUS. Then JESUS said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. Therefore that disciple whom JESUS loved said to Peter, “It is THE LORD!” Now when Simon Peter heard that it was THE LORD, he put on his outer garment (for he had removed it), and plunged into the sea. But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from land, but about two hundred cubits), dragging the net with fish. Then, as soon as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid on it, and bread. JESUS said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.” Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, one hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, the net was not broken. JESUS said to them, “Come and eat breakfast.” Yet none of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?” — knowing that it was THE LORD. JESUS then came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. This is now the third time JESUS showed Himself to His disciples after He was raised from the dead.” John 21:1-14.
We see then, GOD’s EXCEEDING favour toward man and His desire to collaborate with man in providing for man.
The seven disciples had a WONDERFUL breakfast by the sea and a multitude of fish from the sea. From Heaven and on earth, THE LORD had it all arranged and provided: A Fire of coals, and fish laid on It, and Bread, and Fresh Large Fish.
Each element of The Divine, miraculous provision has a message.
The Fire of coals represents THE LORD’s Ability to bring Heaven to earth to meet our needs. As Elijah declared and demonstrated, He is THE GOD Who answers by FIRE! (1 Kings 18:24,38).
One of the angels (the seraphim) took a live coal from The Altar before The Throne of GOD and provided the prophet Isaiah’s need of cleansing and holiness. (Please see Isaiah 6:1-6).
And an angel presented the prayers of the saints using Fire from The Altar before The Throne of GOD, (Revelation 8:3-5).
The fish laid on The Fire means that THE LORD has it all cooking for you. Far better than any earthly father, our Heavenly FATHER knows how to give good gifts to His children who ask Him.
As THE LORD said, “Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your FATHER Who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!“ (Matthew 7:9- 1).
The Bread signifies THE LORD Himself: He is “The Bread Which comes down from Heaven”, “The Bread of GOD”, “The Bread of Life”, “The True Bread” (John 6:32-58).
It also shows GOD’s ready care to provide our earthly needs. For example, THE LORD fed the over five thousand in the wilderness with five loaves of bread and two fish, and again, on another occasion, four thousand with seven loaves and “a few little fish.” (See Matthew 14 and 15).
You see then that, before and after THE CROSS, repeatedly, THE LORD provided bread and fish – an emphasising metaphor for His Provision of Eternal Life and for the life that now is.
The freshly caught fish: By this miracle, THE LORD proved again that HE knows where to lead us to get super-abundance, without sorrow and toil.
“The Blessing of THE LORD truly makes rich and adds no sorrow to it.” Proverbs 10:22.
The 153 large fish: When JESUS commanded the disciples to “Cast the net on the right side of the boat…“ (v.6), they did immediately and caught 153 large fish.
By alpha-numeric calculation of Hebrew, the number 153 is said to mean: Ani Elohim – meaning “I AM GOD”.
JESUS IS GOD! (Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8; Romans 9:5; 2 Peter 1:1; 1 John 3:2). And He will provide for you what you need just as He did for the seven disciples that day by the sea: both cooked and fresh.
Therefore, as an apostle JESUS CHRIST and a prophet of The Living GOD, I say to you, like Paul:
“And my GOD shall supply all your need according to His Riches in Glory by CHRIST JESUS.” Philippians 4:19.
JESUS CHRIST is the same yesterday, today and forever. Just as THE LORD was so loving and caring for the seven, He will be to you. Please ask Him to do so for you.
Notice also that, THE LORD asked the disciples to “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.“ (v.10).
GOD does everything, but He requires our participation for our good. Although JESUS already had some fish laid on the fire, He asked the disciples to bring some of the fish THEY have just caught, so He could roast more for them.
THE LORD created us for fellowship in all that He does. This is why He gave Adam the responsibility to name all animals and birds He had created, (Genesis 2:19-20).
THE LORD still deals with man in like-manner today.
We have our part to play and pray as led by THE HOLY SPIRIT. And He will supply all our need according to His Riches in Glory by CHRIST JESUS.
The disciples had to cast the net exactly where THE LORD instructed. And they had EXCEEDINGLY great success.
Let THE LORD show you the right side of the boat to cast the net and catch a great multitude of fish.
Ask THE LORD to show you what to do to get what you need, to solve your problem. Do exactly that. And He will prosper your obedience and diligence.
I have experienced this again and again over the years — including, as I shared previously, when THE LORD, through a dream, gave me a client (a huge, prominent global company) headquartered in London. And I made a huge amount of thousands of pounds as led by THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Indeed, this has become my life and pursuit night and day: seeking THE LORD and casting the net where He says – doing what He wants where, when and how.
“It is THE LORD!”
A great need for every believer is knowing and discerning THE LORD.
It is quite curious and surprising to read that THE LORD had spoken to Peter and the rest of the seven to “Cast the net on the right side of the boat…“ to catch fish. They did and caught so much fish.
Yet, all along, they did not know that it was THE LORD!
We must increasingly know and discern THE LORD so as not to miss His Opportunities and Visitations scheduled for us from Heaven.
You must discern “the day of visitation.” And you must “know the time of your visitation.” (Luke 19:44; 1 Peter 2:12).
Remember, as THE LORD said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” (Hosea 4:6).
We must continually pray for discernment, ask for discernment. Apart from other Utterance of THE HOLY SPIRIT, I often pray the following Scriptures out loud for discernment, personalising them: Philippians 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 1:5-9; Ephesians 1:17-23; Hebrews 5:14.
I also pray specifically for discerning of spirits, as well as the rest of The Manifestation of THE SPIRIT. (Please see 1 Corinthians 12:7-10.)
So, THE LORD has EXCEEDINGLY great things arranged for us: both cooked and fresh. But we must hear Him, and obey Him to obtain them.
Always seek The JESUS Catch. He knows where the fish are – for you to get a HUGE haul of without hustle. For He is GOD.
THE LORD has promised to do it; He will NEVER fail: “If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it.“ (John 14:14).
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of Jesus Christ by The Will of God, according to The Promise of Life which is in Christ Jesus, (2 Timothy 1:1).
As John was, Jacob is the disciple whom JESUS loves, (John 13:23;19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20). And like Paul, Jacob is “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
“And having been perfected, He became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
Very well put together Word for us! Thank you. God bless
