Do You Have the Faith of Abraham?
“Now The LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” So Abram departed as The LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan,” Genesis 12:1-5.
“Do you have the Faith to walk as I walked upon this earth?
Can you walk ahead not knowing where the next step will take you?
Truly, Abraham left his small town of Ur and struck out not knowing where he was going to, and yet he became the father of nations. He left with his wife and children, and herds of cattle and sheep.
And how long and how far did he travel? He ventured through unknown territories, through kingdoms he had never heard of before.
He walked as few men had ever walked before. And yet he did not have a compass and The Bible, My Holy Words. You have more at your disposal than he ever did, and yet you still don’t know where you’re going.
Have you not seen and have you not heard, that I, The LORD of hosts watch all of the affairs of man?
I have seen your plight, and the days in which you now live. Many are dying in the process now, and many have doubted the days in which you now live. And yet still, many go unprepared for what lies ahead.
So, but if you have the faith of Abraham then you will go about your daily lives, not necessarily knowing what lies ahead, but willing to walk forward in Faith, that I will give you the strength ahead.”
