Do You have a Competitive Spirit?
While, I was meditating upon The Lord, I heard The Lord saying the word, competitiveness.
I hear God saying that you have been around the church too long: it is time to get in the church!
As I was studying the word of God, The Lord began to show me the love that God had for His disciples was absolutely pure, unconditional, and undefiled! Why? Because, God said to me that everything that Christ was, He wanted the disciples to be (unselfish), and more, and whatever Christ learned, He wanted to pour back into them!
Christ went so far as to tell them that: “He was the way and the truth and the light and no man can come to the father except by Him!” (John 14:6)
You see, I hear God saying that many of you are trying to get to heaven without first coming to the Father, his son Jesus Christ, and receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit; which is impossible!
You see, God is trying to tell many in this season that without Him, you can do nothing in this season and unless you abide in Him (His Word) you are just blowing wind and you will accomplish nothing!
I hear God saying that many folk are trying to build their own on heaven right here on earth! How? Well, if you have not received the baptism of the Holy Ghost, you are only fooling your self, saith The Lord!
This is why Christ told the disciples that they would do greater works than He did and why He had to go away to prepare a place for them! Christ told them that unless; He goes away, the comforter would not come! (John 14:11-2).
You see, God showed me that the reason some of you are so competitive in the body of Christ, is because you have not received the Holy Spirit and you are trying to do the works of Christ on your own; instead of receiving everything that God has for you!
God is trying to tell many of you that unless you abide in the vine, you will bring forth no fruit! All the blessings that God has for His people are conditional and before you will be able to activate them there are some things that you as a Christian will have to do, first!
Yes, confessing that you have been born again is the first step; however, there is much more that God wants to do in your life before you can go on to be an effective witness (preach, teach, etc..) for him, saith The Lord! The reason God wants to give His spirit to you is to empower you to do greater works in the Kingdom of God! He said, “After that the Holy Ghost comes upon you: you will receive power when the holy spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
But, i hear God saying that many of you have inquired: the antithesis (contrary) of the spirit of Jesus is the spirit of competition.
The reason that this spirit (competitiveness) can be recognized is because it seeks to accomplish things on it’s own without the power of God rather than seeking the glory of God, it seeks the glory of man. Rather than inspiring trust in God, it inspires trust in human ability.
Rather than yielding to the influence of God’s spirit, it yields to the dictates of human desire rather than trusting in the Holy Spirit.
I heard God saying that this spirit strives to reach the stature of the fullness of Christ; it strives only to be superior (competing) to others. The spirit of competition detracts from personal excellence as defined by the scriptures, since it seeks only to be ranked above someone else. This spirit is not like God, because Jesus sought to be one with the disciples and not a lone ranger seeking his own fame and glory; not like many of you in the church! Who seems to think that it is all about you!
This is why Jesus told the disciples to abide in Me and i in you for without him you can do nothing! He went on to say that every man that does not abide can bring forth no fruit and if he does not abide he shall be cast forth as a branch! (John 15). This is why some of you cannot show love in the body of Christ, because you are a lone ranger working on your own; you have no love and can never bring unity to the body of Christ, but you are always in conflict with others who are doing the work of the father saith The Lord!
I hear God saying that the spirit of competition is the dominant spirit of this world and it is not of The Father.
I hear God saying that when you love your brothers and you’re sisters it is no longer you but the Christ that lives on the inside! It is the spirit that incites men to strive to be “better” than their fellows — not to be better than they were yesterday, not to grow up into the likeness of Christ, only to be “better” than their fellows so they can feel superior to others.
But Paul wrote, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit who is from God” (1 Corinthians 2:12). Like God, we ought to be emptying and humbling ourselves, not striving to exalt ourselves above our fellow believers and fill ourselves up on the accolades of men.
My God, my God! I hear God saying you need to get filled up with the more of Him and the less of you! Come on somebody, God is speaking in this very hour! I hear God saying that when we as the church really get filled there will be no more division in the body of Christ: for we will all work in both the unity and the love of the body of Christ! No! There will be no more big “I and little u!”
I hear God saying that you will no longer stop fellowshipping with your brothers and sisters in Christ, but when there is a problem that problem will not only affect you, but it will affect the whole body! (1 Corinthians 12: 21-23).
As a matter of fact, Jesus warned that “whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted” (Luke 14:11).
I hear God saying that many of you have not learned anything in your walk because you are still walking after the flesh, just as it did not sink in the hearts of James and John, the sons of Zebedee who came to him, saying, “Teacher, we want you to do for us whatever we ask.” Jesus replied, “What do you want me to do for you?” And they answered without the least bit of embarrassment; “Grant us that we may sit, one on your right hand and the other on your left, in your glory” (Mark 10:35-37).
You see, many of you are praying illegally in the spirit and you want god to grant you things that are outside the will of God, but i heard God saying that unless you abide in him you will continue trying to build upon this earthly house! A house that is not eternal!
It is time to recognize the true mission and the purpose of the Church is not about a one man show, but the saving of souls!

Apostle Geraldine Fisher has a World-Wide-Social Media Net-Work Ministry. Saved for over 30-years, as a Missionary, God moved her into the Office of a Prophet and continues to revealed to her the qualities of a True prophet: humility, humiliation, love others and intercede in prayer as she keeps her own life clean to accurately hear from God. God revealed True prophets draw believers to Christ; NOT wanting or seeking self praise, as the work is about God, not SELF. Since hearing the audible voice of God calling her into prophetic ministry, she has been on this journey, called to intercede and to pray on behalf of others in the ministry as God speaks to her, instructing, directing and dropping a prophetic word for her, to give to others. To prepare her for her prophetic call, God promised He would bringing her to sit and to learn before great men, all of which He did! |
Wow thank you so much Apostle Geraldine Fisher, this was such a timely passage and revelation. I have been dealing with this spirit. I have been receiving these very scriptures John 14 over and over again as well as Ephesians 6:12 and not getting it at all. Even identifying the spirit of envy and discontent . trying hard to not think about comparing myself to my other Christian friends but it was like it wasn’t going away. Than I asked way I am I so competitive. I actually hate the feeling and I want it out of my life. It brings unrest and doesn’t bring peace at all. It has even effected the way I communicate with my friends that I know I love but than shortly after suspicion falls over me and I have to try and convince myself that she is not my enemy. I question if I even have the holy spirit because of it and the emotions I feel. Reading this I thought I would feel shame and guilt. But I feel at peace with this . Thank you so much . I guess I would like to know how does one take steps to only abide in Christ alone and remove the spirit of competition for their life. God bless you for sharing this message .
