Do We Dare to Be a Daniel?
Do We Dare to be a Daniel?
Yes, Let’s Do!
Good morning.
We must surely lay our lives down as Christians to be effective in The Kingdom of God!
This song from these young men, I felt goes along with this message today.
If you read first this Scripture, we will explore more the subject at hand.
“Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar:” Daniel 5:12
How did Daniel get there, to have that excellent spirit?
Now let’s go over to the New Testament to see. We know that the corn of wheat must die to be effective!
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” John 12:24
Daniel had to die out to self and surrender all to His Maker. The result? He brought forth much fruit.
He lived a consecrated life to the Lord in the land of his captivity, (Babylon).
Daniel had an established Prayer time daily.
Three times a day he prayed! He didn’t even try to hide that fact.
Daniel even had his Window Open toward Jerusalem!
“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.” Daniel 6:10
I believe in one sense that open window represented a ‘Open Portal’ from heaven, (representing New Jerusalem).
He was receiving from The LORD in his established prayer life.
He daily gave thanks, no matter how tough it was. You can see he was constantly rising above his own circumstances.
He was a citizen of another country which had been seized, but he was always a faithful servant to Yahweh.
Just like the three Hebrew children, he didn’t bow to other gods!
God put that ‘excellent spirit’ within him, because he sought after Him with all that he had!
He didn’t turn to his own thoughts and interpretations.
I love the book of Daniel. This article, I realize is barely touching the surface on this subject.
Let’s all dare to be a Daniel!!
If your like me and like to dig, here is several more links on another article that I wrote.
There is more insight and correlations with the book of Daniel and Revelation, by His grace here.
