Discerning the Times & the Seasons
1 Chronicles 12 speaks about the Twelve Tribes of Israel who had an army of thousands of men and who helped David in battle at Ziglag, when he was still a fugitive from Saul.
These same men also helped David ascend to the throne as King. It describes them as men who were fearless, heroic and strong.
Verse 2 says that all the men were ambidextrous and sharp shooters. They shot arrows and hurled stones from both hands. The first group of men to help him were actually Saul’s brothers from the tribe of Benjamin.
The Gadites also joined the army to help David fight. The Bible says that they were mighty men of valor, men trained for battle, and could handle shield and spear. Their faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as gazelles on the mountains. They swam over the Jordan River at the time that its banks overflowed.
There were eighteen thousand men from half the tribe of Manassah who came and helped David fight against the thieves and the raiders. They were the men who were designated by name to come and make David King.
They came every day until it became a great army of what the bible says were like “the army of God”. The sons of Ephraim, Judah, Simeon and Levi also joined in the battle. Every warrior had their place in this mighty army.
Then there were the sons of Issachar who knew how to discern the times and the seasons. They knew what Israel should do and when to do it.
They were described as mighty men who also helped David in war. Their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were under their command. They were key leaders of their tribe.
The tribe of Zebulen brought 50,000 trained soldiers. They had every type of weapon and they were loyal to David.
Men from the tribes of Naphtali, Dan, Asher and Reuben all kept battle formation. There were 120,000 men from Reuben, Gad and half of Manassah who were armed for war and were also equipped with every kind of weapon. They were all in one accord fighting for David as well as supplying food.
We are living in a season of intense spiritual warfare and The LORD has equipped us with everything we need for the battle. We are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against the powers and principalities of the air.
The LORD is training our hands for war and our fingers for battle. He will cause the rulers of darkness and those who rise against us to be defeated before our face. They shall come out against us one way, and flee before us seven ways.
The LORD is raising up those with spiritual discernment just as the sons of Issachar. They are not only prophets and seers, but they are those believers who discern the times and season that we are living.
He will give them the wisdom on what to do. Those who have the gift of discerning of spirits will require a greater tenacity and perseverance. Do not allow the enemy to intimidate you and don’t be moved by his ineffectual strategies.
The LORD says, “I AM looking for men and women who are tenacious in Faith to bring transformation to this world. I AM looking for those who are strong and very courageous, who won’t bow their knee to the prophets of Baal.
I will show them how to discern the enemies’ tactics and recognize his schemes. I will train them how to identify the enemy and his strategies.
They are those who understand that they are not fighting against flesh and blood, and they recognize that they are in a spiritual battle.
They discern the spiritual atmosphere around them at all times. Though there will be armies ahead of you, I have already made a way of escape.
This remnant is being groomed to usher in a great outpouring. They will heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the leaper and set the captives free.
I AM looking for those who are willing to go to the front lines regardless of what they see and hear in the natural.
I AM looking for those who will not become weary as the enemy seems to be battering and relentless. It’s time to take a stand against the deeds of darkness and expose them.
I AM calling forth My warriors who are not fearful or fainthearted to rise up. I AM looking for those who will walk in Faith and are not moved by adverse circumstances.
A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand — but it shall not come near you.
Only with your eyes shall you look, and see the reward of the wicked. It is time for you to rise up and take your stand to be the men and women that I have created you to be,” says The LORD
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for The LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9.
“The sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command.” 1 Chronicles 12:32.
“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only with your eyes shall you look and see the reward of the wicked.” Psalm 91:7-8.
