Delivering the Word of God!
“…There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work” 1 Corinthians 12:4-6.
It is not man that anoints and appoints but it is God!
God gives everyone different methods of delivering His Word. In the Word of God, God spoke through different ways through different people in the Bible. No one has a standardized way of speaking and proclaiming the word of God. He has always spoken to his people in many different forms… even through a donkey.
No two persons will express the word of God the exactly same way. You can look at the history of the prophets in the bible and prove this fact. However, all of it should be grounded in the truth of God and lined up with his written word.
But God has gifted each individual in the body of Christ in many different and creative ways according to their abilities that he has given them. It may be through dreams, visions, songs, poetry, art, music, excellence in speech, etc..
The word of God can have many different deliveries, but when it is spoken from God and His word, all are effective and God gets the glory! We are many members, but one body and not all function the same (1 Corinthians 12).
God speaks to whom He wills, when He wills and how He wills to speak to them. It may not be whom we think it should be! But God’s standards and man standards are not the same. It is good that God doesn’t look at race, gender, experience, years in the church, education, family history or family background because if so, a lot of people would not have a chance!
So, because we feel that God doesn’t speak to others the way we think He should, or to whom He should… I am so sorry, but our elite degrees and education, genders, race, experience, and background are out of the window! Our thoughts and ideas about who should be chosen, is totally different from God! The qualifications of God are not measured by any man.
Man looks at the outer appearance.. but God looks at the heart. So if we are ministers and teachers of the Word of God and are not receiving the revelations that we see God is giving to others, then it may be time to check ourselves…. and not the gifts of others!
“But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart” 1 Samuel 16:7.
