Deep End Ministry – Testimony
God’s way of teaching us QUICKLY.
I’ve told this before but The LORD brought it to mind this morning and said to release it again as an encouragement to those who need to hear it.
Prophetic Training varies between the things learned in private and those learned in public — sometimes very public!
Deep end ministry is actually a very valuable lesson — usually quite public — which teaches us when prophesying, that we have to trust God completely.
We can always ask for confirmation from Him, but ultimately, we have to just trust Him and speak out what He asks us to speak out.
That’s the job of a Prophet — to deliver the word of The LORD.
That’s the whole job. Not to worry about how it is received, just to speak it out. When to speak, how to speak, and to whom to speak is part of the on-going learning.
But speaking what He says to speak — don’t change it — just speak it, is the art of Prophecy.
Deep End Ministry in Brussels
Let me first take you back to about 1995.
My mentor called me and said, “The LORD just told me to teach you all I know about Prophecy, and to ask you if you’d like to learn?”
I knew very little about Prophecy at the time, so I said yes. So for the next few years we went to as many events as we could, especially prophetic ones with Dr. Sharon Stone (whom he knew very well).
He would call me up and ask, “What’s The LORD saying to you about this?”
He’d laugh at my replies and then tell me what I should have said, but over time I got better and I must have learned something.
Fast forward to 2007.
My wife had died in April and I had just moved back to the outer London area. Peter called me and said, “Do you fancy a trip to Brussels. I’ve got a meeting there and it would do you good to come!”
The meeting turned out to be a meal for about 400 people followed by Peter preaching. He then asked a question I was to hear a lot in the next three years — “Who would like a word from The LORD?”
About 250 people came forward. He split them into two halves. Then he called out, “Can I have my team please?”
I looked around — it turned out to be me!
Peter then spoke the most astonishing words I’ve ever heard and which I’ll never forget — “Chris, you take this half, I’ll take that half!”
I’d never given a word to anyone, and here was my ‘friend and mentor’ dropping me in the deep end!
“The LORD has said you’re ready — go for it!”
I prayed like I’ve never prayed before and to add to it all, the pastor of the Church came with me to interpret!
Let me tell you The LORD gave me words for over 100 people that night! It was a very long ministry session!
The pastor told me later that he had deliberately put 7 or 8 very dodgy people in front of me and I apparently picked every one of them out.
He tells me I got every detail spot on. Now that was not me, it can only have been GOD, and we give Him the glory every time I tell the story.
That’s deep end ministry! I learned very quickly to trust Him!
Another example of deep end ministry happened in Spring 2011.
My new wife and I were out in the local shopping mall in a coffee shop having, guess what, coffee and muffins.
My phone rang. I answered and it was my mentor, Peter, calling from Copenhagen. “Hello Chris, I’m with the xyz (their name doesn’t matter), Church leadership. The LORD is giving you a word for the pastors here so I’ll put the phone on speaker so that they can all hear you!”
OKAY! No pressure here then!
So I felt a prompt from The LORD and started speaking, probably quite loudly. And to make matters even more obvious, I was standing up and pacing around!
All the coffee shop was listening! When I finished, Peter asked me, “When was the last time we spoke?”
“About three or four days ago.”
“Let me tell you, you have just repeated, almost verbatim, what I spoke to these ministers about ten minutes ago. They are all amazed!”
I was amazed too. When I looked around, everyone in the coffee shop was checking their phone.
Why?
Because the coffee shop was underground in a place here no signal was usually possible.
That’s God!
All glory to Him.
That’s Deep End Ministry!
~ Chris G. Bennett
Chris Bennett came to salvation in 1962 but didn’t begin ministry until 2007 — a late-comer! Now mandated by The LORD to prophesy and open old wells of revival in the U.K., but especially in Wales. He has also operated Healing Rooms, and worked with deliverance teams, all with his wife, Linda. Happily now doing whatever The LORD asks of them! Founder, with wife Linda, of their ministry The Upper Room Encounter.
Read this awesome word late & the Lord gave me a great loud laugh at the end! He is so absolutely good & humorous! I am so glad He had you share it again!
Also LORD God, connect us to people that will push us to the deep end. People that will cooperate with You in pushing us out of our comfort zones and into the deep end kind of ministry. In Jesus Christ name I pray, Amen
Thank you for these stories. May the Lord God help us not to be afraid of the deep end,but rather to trust Him more and more. Thank You Lord God for putting it in your servant’s heart to share with us this message. I gladly receive it and run with it
Your story is so touching and encouraging, though I am in a different situation. Glory to God. God is good all the time. I can feel how God loves you by seeing the way God has trained you. God seems to train people according to their timing and speed. I want to be brave when God requires me to. Really thanks. Chris.
Thank you Chris (and LORD) for that wonderful story that made me grin ear to ear. Our God is so awesome beyond our idea of awesome. He is The God of the Impossible and He KNOWS when we are ready for what He wants to give us.
God bless you dear brother!
