^*“We need to be parched with thirst to be able to feel the value of cold waters to quench our thirst.” C.H. SURGEON

I saw this quotation taken from one of the Great Preacher Charles H. Surgeon, which spoke to me.

The way it spoke is that it reminded me one MUST BE THIRSTY before he really will drink and that men do not value cold waters until their tongues thirst for refreshing. The reason so many do not come to the Living Water of the Word and Drink of its cool refreshment is because they are not thirsty.

Men today are thirsty for many things which cause them to be unconcerned about God or His Word. The reason many do not come for meetings or for Bible Study is because their thirst is in the wrong things.

You can see it in the way they speak and about what they speak about; about their outward actions. [they are nowhere to be found at the start of the Bible Study. EMPTY SEATS] One can only take note that they are THIRSTING FOR SELF GRATIFICATION and even the filthy things found in this World over the things of God.

The PURE COOL WATERS OF GOD, THE REFRESHING OF THE LORD is not what they thirst for, but really it is not in their mouth to even desire. This is the very reason why many today are OFF INTO THE WORLD AND THE THINGS OF THE WORLD; they desire the things that are of the Flesh and of the evil World more than the things of God.

“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy…….” Isaiah 55:1a.

But, you see, MANY Men are NOT THIRSTY! They will not even come when the purchase cost NO MONEY. It is Free, yet men will pay all they have for the things of the World.

The very things they pay all to own will not satisfy their thirst. Oh, Why will men run for the worldly things that do not bring refreshment?

The Bible invitation is COME. EVERY ONE THAT IS THIRSTY, COME YE TO THE WATERS….. Did not Jesus himself say in John 7:37 “….If any man is thirsty, let him come to me and Drink! He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trust in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] SPRINGS OF LIVING WATER”?

But again, He was talking only to those who were Thirsty. [Amp. Bible]

For what are you thirsty to obtain? [That you will pursue and seek with diligence.] If you are THIRSTING FOR GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS [desiring to sit at his feet and DRINK IN ALL HE HAS….

Then you will be SATISFIED. But it does not merely say to men, come and THINK….. no, not just to think and study,,, but to DRINK DEEPLY OF HIS REFRESHING.

Jesus has the LIVING WATER that will satisfy your soul, so why not SEEK HIM and be SATISFIED? I believe he is speaking, not just mere Bible Study, but A PERSONAL SEEKING AND THIRSTING FOR THE LORD HIMSELF AND HIS REFRESHING.

When a man or woman comes to such a place they will be FILLED UP WITH LIVING WATER. They will literally be running over with MUCH WATER and will help many others find satisfaction.

So it is speaking about a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE REFRESHER.

Many will walk the DRY DESERT and will be made THIRSTY. Yes, in a dry heat so hot that one’s tongue cleaves to the roof of his/her mouth. I hear a man or woman walking the dry desert saying out loud…. WATER, WATER, WATER,……. GIVE ME W A T E R…. I MUST HAVE…. W A T E R!

In the dry desert land it is easy to desire WATER. The heat will bring men to the WATER. The longing for COOL, CLEAR, WATER!

God has some of you reading this very Word…. WALKING THE DRY DESERT… He is preparing your heart for his LIVING WATER.

The LORD knows that IF MEN ARE THIRSTY….. THEY WILL COME. So He does line your steps up to bring Thirst, thus He looks for you [with much longing] to come to Him.

Come yes, TO DRINK. To drink of Him all your souls need for refreshment.

Jesus told the thirsting woman at the well in John 4, “If you knew who I AM, you would ask of me living water [and I would give it to you], so you would not have to come here and draw water from this well anymore.” The woman dropped her water pots and RAN to tell all who she met COME SEE A MAN WHO TOLD ME ALL THINGS…. SHE WAS SATISFIED AND NEEDED TO SHARE THE OVERFLOWING.”

Friend where are you today?

Drinking at the World Fountain or walking in a Dry Desert?

Do the cares of this World occupy all your thoughts?

Or, are you SEEKING FOR THE LORD AND HIS LIVING WATER?

For Revival to ever come, MEN MUST BE THIRSTY for only that which will satisfy.

LET US PRAY THEN THAT GOD WILL MAKE MEN THIRSTY!

“As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country,” Proverbs 25:25.
