Choosing the right path
Aspiring for greatness seems like a noble endeavor. However, if we seek our definition of self worth through our achievements we are on the wrong path. It will never be enough.
There is nothing we can accomplish that will make us any more worthy of God’s love. We must let go of any aspiration built on self accomplishment. Instead we must cling to the truth that is the promise of His word.
We are free from the old, dead ways which we once used to define self. We are free from endless introspection and comparisons with our brothers and sisters in Christ that leave us feeling “less than.”
We are free to love and to be loved, not for what we have done, but for who we are in Christ Jesus.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord,” Romans 8:38-39.
