Jesus led me to a difficult verse for us to hear.

It is Matthew 9:4 and it says, “But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts.””

This is difficult, because this can be us who has evil in our hearts — not just the Pharisees.

Therefore, it is so important to examine yourself as you read the Bible to allow Jesus to grow your character.

Sometimes in our hearts we think Jesus will not show up to help us in our hurt.

This frustration or doubt lends Jesus to say to us, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?”

So, Jesus brought this verse to me, so I could remind ourselves of the power of God, although life may not be going well.

Remember:

Jesus is mighty, powerful, and a victorious warrior.

He will use your weakness to show His power.

Jesus will go with you to fight for you and to give you the victory.

You will win and you will succeed because you serve a God who does not give up and does not lose. Jesus is all powerful — today and forever.

Jesus adds: “Tell My People to trust Me in the bad and I will see to it that good will happen. I have not given up on them.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father you are a great God.

Thank you for your goodness and your love for us.

Jesus forgive us for all the times we think deep in our hearts that you will not help us and deliver us.

Jesus we believe you will come through in our times of trouble to bring us into times of great joy and peace.

For with You, nothing is impossible.
