Change Resistors
Penny Jackson, a good friend from Houston, shared the following for all you “change resistors”!
If you have any doubt that God has a sense of humor, consider this. The LORD has linked me, content to have the exact same furniture for 15 years, with Chuck who sometimes changes his shirt three times a day.
But I need him. We need the Chucks to remind us that one of the things you can expect most from God is change. He is taking us from glory to glory.
I wanted to share this morning what I am learning in this season… how He is taking me through change. Starting a year ago in January, He began dropping different options and scenarios into me.
Each time I thought, “Okay. Well, here it is..here is the new. Let’s do this so I can settle back down again and get on with life.”
You can laugh; I’m pretty sure God does. And I have even gotten an excitement about the various options at times, only to have that excitement and even that option seem to dim as I pondered and even pursued the idea of it.
That happened again with something this past week. I was all over it thinking, “Okay. I got it. Let’s roll” only to have this option dim as well.
This morning I got it. No sacrilege meant, but it’s like God has been showing me a Wheel of Fortune scenario.
Over the past year He has shown me different options out there, allowing me to experience and adjust to each, only to have that fervor ebb.
I used to get frustrated and even mad at Him. I have realized that I have even judged Him in this, almost feeling like I was being teased.
But today I saw it. Today I got the revelation of what a sweet, sweet thing it is. It’s the Wheel of Future, really, and He already knows where the wheel will stop.
He has used each stop, each time I have felt “this is it!” to file down my sharp edges, to take away fears, to cause me to trust that He is, as usual, Large and in Charge in every one of these options.
With each stop He has pried my fingers off of what is and given me an understanding that when it’s time to change, the excitement will far outweigh any sorrow at leaving my old season.
Now I can honestly say that I am finally and truly getting an excitement for where the wheel will stop. I have seen the beauty of the process and repented for my judgments, and I’m confident of His care for me in this process.
So to my clan out there, we can do this! He Who has chosen for us is so faithful. The best truly is yet to come, even if we don’t fully see it right now. He Who has called us is faithful and loves us so.
Let the adventure begin!”
Blessings,
Chuck D. Pierce

THE MELTED CHEESE
The Lord showed me a bread roll that had been broken open and melted cheese oozed out of the centre of the roll. For the cheese to be in a molten state, the bread roll would have to remain close to the oven. However, the temperature on the outside of the oven may not be high enough to keep the cheese in a molten state. You can’t leave the bread roll in the oven all day or it would burn. It is about ‘responsiveness.’ When the Lord asks for a cheese roll, we should bake it immediately. But the baker shouldn’t be ready with the molten cheese because that would result in a burnt cheese roll. Keep in step with the Spirit (Galatians 5:25).
Change facilitators have pre-heated ovens. Change resistors have eaten the bread roll.
