Celebrate Living in Spiritual Light
Celebrate living in spiritual light, for God has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light and has delivered us out of the power of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His Son.
In that, God has made us His people.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. In the past, you were not a people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good works and glorify God in the day of visitation. (The day of visitation is the day receiving Messiah Jesus.)” 1 Peter 2:9-12.
“Giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the holy ones in light, who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love, in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.” Colossians 1:12-14.
God has set us free and Messiah Jesus leads us to stay free.
“Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Messiah has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” Galatians 5:1.
As Paul remarked, there’s no law against staying free.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22.
Living in the environment of the fruit of The Spirit we rejoice and the peace of God guards our hearts and thoughts in Messiah Jesus.
“Rejoice in The LORD always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!” Let your gentleness be known to all men. The LORD is at hand. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Messiah Yeshua.” Philippians 4:4-7.
“Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.
Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for their fathers did the same thing to the prophets.” Luke 6:22-23 (John 9:22;15:21,16:2, Hebrews 11:26; 1 Peter 4:14).
We give thanks, joining Paul in thanking God and praying for one another, especially for our families, brothers and sisters in The LORD and the hurting.
Here, Paul thanks God for the faith, hope and love and the fruit of that in the Colossians and us.
“We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, praying always for you, having heard of your faith in Messiah Yeshua and of the love which you have toward all the holy ones, because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good News which has come to you, even as it is in all the world and is bearing fruit and growing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth, even as you learned from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Messiah on your‡ behalf, who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.
For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that you may walk worthily of The LORD, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy.” Colossians 1:3-11.
We give thanks for what God has made us to be and to do.
“You also as living stones are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Yeshua the Messiah.” 1 Peter 2:5 (Ephesians 4:1-16)
We give thanks for the fellowship God gives us in the body of Messiah.
We celebrate the fact that, in America, out of 256 million adults, around 166 million adult brothers and sisters in The LORD are living in the light. God has delivered us from the darkness the remaining 90 million adults live in. (Pew Research as of 2019)
