Can you Handle the TRUTH?
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” John 8:32.
As I was sitting and watching the news, there is one destruction after an other, one event after an other. Trouble is all around and evil is on every hand.
With that in mind, there is no need and no time for trivial or negative matters within the body of Christ. With the world in turmoil, we as saints, should encourage and give words which unite, instead of causing division and confusion. God is not playing around when it comes to winning souls for His Kingdom! These times call for the “true word of God” to flow out into the atmosphere, and not for negative words which will tear down and not build up, God’s Kingdom! The Bible tells us that we are recognized by our fruits (Matthew 7:15-20).
We as saints, are just as responsible as the those who speak and cause division (Romans 1:32, 1 Timothy 5:22). We need to ask ourselves, “Does this word or action line up with God’s holy scripture?” “Does it represent what Christ would say or do?” It does not matter who the person is, saints should not agree with actions or words that are contrary to the word of God; because if we do so, then we are just as guilty as the person speaking the words or committing the action; and this will result in us working directly against God Almighty! Is this not truth? Is not this the true Word of God? Does the scripture tells us the truth about falling into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31)? Should we take this lightly and just shun it as nothing when in fact the truth is right before us (Proverbs 1)?
If we are in the body of Christ and if we can’t handle the truth, then what and how are we going to preach and witness to others? How are we going to win the unbeliever if we ourselves don’t want to face or handle the true word of God ourselves when the word of God finds us (1 John 4:1)? Are we to be angry at God because of his word? Because if we are angry at the truth, then we are angry at God because it is his word and no one else! God’s word will not change for anybody and none of us are above his word (Hebrews 13:8)!
The study of God’s word is how you recognize and find out the truth (2 Timothy 2:15)! When it all boils down, the word of God is the “only” foundation that is going to secure us in these times. Before we can even win others over to Christ, we first have to be able to accept God’s truth and realize that his word supersedes and is bigger than all of us! The word of God says that you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32)!
“… Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit. You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil” Matthew 12:33-35.
