Can We Handle Revival Intensity?
Thought for today from yesterday….
Listening to an old Brownsville worship album, oh how my heart longs for that once more.
Not that I managed to go there to Pensacola, although I do remember with great fondness the early days of Sunderland and Ken Gott in the 90’s.
Also the heady days I spent in Lakeland in 2008 with hundreds, even thousands queuing for each service.
I know they all fizzled out, but the atmosphere, the weighty presence of God, the genuine healings, the electric praise and worship, and the inspired and inspiring preaching!
Wonderful days, wonderful memories.
I wonder how many today are really ready for such intensity, such an obvious presence, and the salvations.
Everyone wants to see, and hear, the testimonies of the accompanying ‘signs and wonders’, but how many want the longer term discipling of new-borns?
Who will ever forget watching Delia Knox getting up and walking after twenty years in a wheelchair at a meeting in 2010 with Nathan Morris at The Bay Revival?
How many received salvation after seeing that?
And how many were discipled well enough to still be following The LORD today?
Yes, Revival, Renewal, the moving of God through a His Spirit is what we all apparently want, but how many want the hard work, the responsibility that inevitably goes with such an awakening?
Think on it. Pray about it.
Then, if you really mean it, pray for the great awakening that is just beginning, to touch and bless you so that you may be that same blessing to others!
~ Chris G. Bennett
Chris Bennett came to salvation in 1962 but didn’t begin ministry until 2007 — a late-comer! Now mandated by The LORD to prophesy and open old wells of revival in the U.K., but especially in Wales. He has also operated Healing Rooms, and worked with deliverance teams, all with his wife, Linda. Happily now doing whatever The LORD asks of them! Founder, with wife Linda, of their ministry The Upper Room Encounter.
When Delia got out of that wheelchair, that was the first time we attended a Bay Revival meeting. The atmosphere was electric. Several months later she walked on stage singing the song they sang when she felt Nathan’s hands on her legs. Lydia Stanley Marrow sang, “How Can I Keep from Singing.”
I currently attend Church of HIS Presence with John Kilpatrick. Lydia has returned as our Praise Director. We are in great expectation. Blessings & Courage in Jesus’ name.
Thank you for the word and video, I watched in tears. I believe He is doing it again. I believe I will see His miracles manifested through me, through the ministry He, Jesus has placed in me and in the body of Christ, so let it be LORD. Amen
