Can You?
A psalm to praise and sing to God, out loud.
Can You?
Can you count how many stars in the sky?
Can you count how many grains of sand in the sea?
Can you fathom His Love for you?
Can you fathom Him in all His Glory;
Wrapped in Power and Splendor,
Honor and Majesty?
His Total Goodness shining all the time?
Can you?
Do you believe all His Promises?
Do you believe all His Assurances?
Do you stand by Him in Faith?
Do you stand by Him and wait
For the things He has said to come to pass?
To taste and see the Goodness He has for you?
To put Him above man?
Do you?
He knows what no man knows —
The stars He made and named
The grains of sand He keeps track of
As they form then turn to dust
Who has seen His Full Glory?
Who has known all His Works?
To know, is to know God completely
Can you know all His Deeds and Wonders?
Can you comprehend His Infiniteness?
The end from the beginning
And all that lies therein?
Can you explain His Ways
Or His Thoughts?
Can you understand the totality of His Holiness?
Can you?
Oh can you?
Can you understand His Voice arising
From the multitude of rushing waters?
Can you understand the depth of His Mercy
When He sent His Son to redeem us?
The power of His Word?
The power of His Blood?
The power of His Name?
Can you?
Oh can you?
Can you fathom eternity with Him
Filled with His Love and Light?
Can you fathom His Presence and laughter?
Or His Teachings and Discoveries
That continue beyond time?
Can you fathom walking side by side with Him,
His Hand in Yours with every tear dried and forgotten?
Can you?
Oh can you?
God’s Mysteries are deep and layered
His Knowledge vast and infinite
His Love abounding in gracious mercy
He is like treasure beyond measure
That makes one want to sell all they have
To buy that treasure,
More valuable than anything in this world
I can try to count
I can try to fathom
I can try to comprehend
I can ask Him for Knowledge and Wisdom
But I will never know or understand all that He is
Ohhhh
Ohhhh
Ohhhh can you?
Ohhhh
Ohhhh
Ohhhh can you?
The only thing I know for sure;
That I believe in
Is in His Promises and Assurances
In His Goodness and His Son
And my love for Him
“He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.” Job 5:9
“His wisdom is profound, his power is vast. Who has resisted him and come out unscathed? He moves mountains without their knowing it and overturns them in his anger. He shakes the earth from its place and makes its pillars tremble. He speaks to the sun and it does not shine; he seals off the light of the stars. He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea. He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the south. He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.” Job 9:4-10
“Your Righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens, you who have done great things. Who is like you, God?” Psalm 71:19
“He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names.” Psalm 147:4
“Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name; by the greatness of his might and because he is strong in power, not one is missing.” Isaiah 40:26
“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” Psalm 8:3-4
“The Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” Matthew 13:44
“In whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:3
