Can We Bare the Axe to Freedom?
I found myself humming the tune to the St. Trinian films the last couple of weeks, and considering I hated these films, I felt to ask The LORD what this is meaning.
On considering what these films are about, the word ‘rebellion’ came into my spirit.
Anyone who doesn’t know these films, they were about a school of girls that were unkempt, almost feral in appearance and behaviour, they gambled and basically ruled havoc over the teachers and the head.
I found these films to be loud and chaotic, and I can imagine anyone with morals in this place were bullied and taken down.
On all these ponderings in that moment, The LORD clearly stated the Word, “They are unteachable!”
What a terrible thing to hear from The LORD Jesus. The sense of His heart cry overwhelms, that as we sit in this valley of decision as individuals, The Church and the nations, His eyes are upon us and we cannot escape from them, yet a remnant in The Body — the pioneers and the loyal to The LORD — are at peace, and even joyous in knowing their God is watching over their every move.
For those ones know his heart! Those are the ones declaring, “But as for me and my house, we will serve The LORD” (Joshua 24:15)
There is no coincidence that from the St. Trinian revelation earlier, my Daily Devotional highlighted Joshua 24.
We have a choice to embrace The LORD as our only God, to abide from the covenant promise of Schechem, to rebuild and unblock the wells of overflow for His Kingdom.
Or, as gracious as The LORD is, we as individuals also have the choice to serve the gods of this world.
The LORD warns that we cannot serve two masters, that in this valley of decision there must be a turnaround, a choice made to walk into the new wine skin era in this moment and year of 2024 onward.
Schechem drawers us back to him, and just as The LORD drew the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well to him, The LORD says, “Draw on me!”
Anyone can make a well, yet The LORD reminds us, that he alone can make a spring form from deep within the ground and the bubbling springs to rise up — for He says, “I AM the true Spring of eternal life!”
2023 — Vision of an Axe in a Treasure Chest
With the bubbling spring imagery, I also saw an axe with a specific scripture of 2 Kings.
“So the man of God said, “Where did it fall?” And he showed him the place. So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float. ” 2 Kings 6:6.
This is where an axe-head that had sunk was recovered to the surface by Elisha. The man was upset that he had dropped it into the waters because he was busy building for The Kingdom.
“6” is the number of man, and there is a deep and painful experience happening for God’s Remnant in this moment, and as you read this, you may be agreeing in your tears, yet remember The LORD is reminding you that He TRUSTS YOU!
You are going from being ‘anointed’ to ‘APPOINTED’, just as King David.
The axe may not ‘feel’ like a treasure, for it is being used to break down and cut away what is no longer needed or beneficial!
That there must be a surrendering of everything of man and the world, for we are of The Spirit — in the world, not of the world!
Our greatest treasure, The LORD our God, knows what is best for us……..
Every impurity is being brought to the surface, and it is for us to agree that He deal with us in it, for Him to skim it off forever! Amen.
Be reminded that in this painful chopping off, the enemy will try to tell you that you have missed the boat!
You and I may be struggling with letting certain things go, and God simply wants that surrender “I’m giving you the muck LORD, take it from me!”
If you fear missing the boat, you are then a God fearing child.
The St. Trinian spirit wouldn’t even care, they’re too busy doing it their way, or deluding that they’ll get on board with their rebellion.
The LORD simply reminds you of His Covenant promise! But from everlasting to everlasting The LORD’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children — with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. (Psalm 103:17-18)
The LORD desires to bestow a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.(Isaiah 61:3)
Oh how he longs and is excited for us beloved, to walk in pure freedom from every stronghold and captivity — a final exit from Egypt!
“If you decide that it’s a bad thing to worship God, then choose a god you’d rather serve — and do it today. Choose one of the gods your ancestors worshiped from the country beyond The River, or one of the gods of the Amorites, on whose land you’re now living. As for me and my family, we’ll worship God.
The people answered, “We’d never forsake God! Never! We’d never leave God to worship other gods.
God is our God! He brought up our ancestors from Egypt and from slave conditions. He did all those great signs while we watched. He has kept his eye on us all along the roads we’ve traveled and among the nations we’ve passed through. Just for us he drove out all the nations, Amorites and all, who lived in the land. Count us in: We too are going to worship God. He’s our God.”
Then Joshua told the people: “You can’t do it; you’re not able to worship God. He is a holy God. He is a jealous God. He won’t put up with your fooling around and sinning. When you leave God and take up the worship of foreign gods, he’ll turn right around and come down on you hard. He’ll put an end to you—and after all the good he has done for you!”
But the people told Joshua: “No! No! We worship God!”
And so Joshua addressed the people: “You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen God for yourselves — to worship him.” And they said, “We are witnesses.”
Joshua said, “Now get rid of all the foreign gods you have with you. Say an unqualified Yes to God, the God of Israel.”
The people answered Joshua, “We will worship God. What he says, we’ll do.”
Joshua completed a Covenant for the people that day there at Shechem. He made it official, spelling it out in detail. Joshua wrote out all the directions and regulations into the Book of The Revelation of God. Then he took a large stone and set it up under the oak that was in the holy place of God.
Joshua spoke to all the people: “This stone is a witness against us. It has heard every word that Godhas said to us. It is a standing witness against you lest you cheat on your God.”
Then Joshua dismissed the people, each to his own place of inheritance.” Joshua 24:15-28.
