Calling The Harvesters!
I am so excited about what God is doing in our midst. Today during the altar call, there was a young lady all the way across the church and for some reason, when the Pastor gave the call, the Lord told me to go over and asked her if she would like to give her heart to the Lord. I had to leave my seat and walk across the church and disturb the altar workers actually, and then ask people to move, because she was down in the Isle a ways. I could have thought, “I don’t think she will be moved by this old lady asking her if she wants to know Jesus, or she probably isn’t even ready,” or a million other reasons to stay in my comfortable seat.
At first I was reluctant to go over, because I was not a part of the altar team, but the Lord brought back a time when I was a child, when a neighbor girl of mine and I were about 9 years old, and we were sitting in Jr.Church at Calvary Baptist here in our town. She suddenly tugged on my arm and said “Do you want to go up?” and I said No!, thinking she meant me, but later on I found out that she meant her, and that she wanted to go with me. She didn’t give her heart to the Lord and as a child, I felt guilty that she hadn’t, and it would be my fault. Funny what the Lord will bring to your mind when He is prompting you…
So, today when the Lord prompted me to go pray with the young lady, for some reason that came to my mind. I heard the Lord say, “If you wait, it could be too late.” So, I went over as I explained and simply said, “Do you want to give your heart to Jesus?” She looked astounded at first, but she said, “Yes, I do.” I asked her to repeat after me, “Father,” and when she just verbalized “Father,” she broke and began to sob. Sometimes just saying, “Father,” when you have never known Him, is enough to cause many years of life to come crashing down and He comes rushing in! Oh Glory to God!
What a joy to led others to Him! I knew right then that this young lady had been “born again.” Oh I love those moments, when the Angels in heaven rejoice with the one sinner comes to know the King of kings. All the activity, all of the tado, and all of the work that was put into that Church service today, may have only been orchestrated to bring in that one soul!
Here is the thing. When the Lord is prompting us to go and lead someone to Him, He knows that their heart is prepared and there is a window of time for a laborer to be sent. Her mother was standing there with her, and she may have been praying for this young lady. I don’t know, there may have been many others. But God spoke to me at that moment to go. And so I obeyed and this will affect her and possibly her whole family and friends for eternity.
I do not tell you this to brag or get praise from you, but to let you know that God is raising up some laborers, and some harvesters right now, and He wants to use many who will be willing to go when He says go, at the right moment in time, to lead many to Him who have been prayed for by their Mom’s, Dad’s and friends. Those who have been in church and heard sermons, but there is a right moment in time for them to come in, and God has prepared their heart and they are in the balance between heaven and Hell.
He is speaking to many to go and you will be so full of Joy when you get to lead them across the threshold and through the Door (Jesus) into eternal life!
“And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest,” Matthew 9:35-38.
