By the Mouths of Two or Three Witnesses
A couple of weeks or so ago I endured a period of time when I was overly busy and a bit stressed and not hearing from The LORD during my nightly prayer-walk, all at the same time.
These are the perfect circumstances and times for the enemy to come and assail us, and so strange thoughts enter our minds and start to grow and fester and lead to thoughts and doubts which at normal times, we would not entertain.
At the height of this –- should I say, at the depths of this –- I received two very short email of thanks. As I sat pondering them, I had no idea what they were about, as neither gave any clue as to the reason for the thanks.
The one thing I did know –- from experience –- was that The LORD has send me these two emails –- or, I should say, He had arranged for them to be sent. So, I replied to both, but still not knowing why I had received them.
Then later that day I received an unexpected message a Prophet who felt called to give us a personal Prophetic Word about us and our ministry.
Since we don’t ask for personal prophecies from others, this Word was an unexpected surprise and I quickly send out a reply of acknowledgment and thanks and then headed for bed.
On waking the next morning, my thoughts came back to these three emails and the Word of The LORD in 2 Corinthians 13:1b which says that,
“By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established….”
As I spoke these Words out loud from memory, it was the ‘three’ which stood out in my mind.
Then, when I considered 2 Corinthians 13:1, I understood that the first two emails of thanks were actually talking about the contents, the Prophetic Word contained in the third email, which had arrived several hours after the first two.
As I sat in prayer, I re-read all three emails with the new understanding that all were from The LORD as ‘one message’ to me. That instantly changed my mind and my feelings and all my stress and worries instantly vanished.
In the past, when I have been down or doubting things, and The LORD wanted to pick me up, He sent me two emails or two messages. Always two. So, when I received these two, I knew immediately Who had initiated them. I could sense The LORD’s Hand upon them.
But to receive three, well, that took it to a whole new level of understanding and of seriousness, of how The LORD was looking after us, and correcting us at the same time. For sure, this time, The LORD wanted to get my attention on this and my action too.
As soon as I got understanding of all this, I replied again to the three emails, only this time with thanks to the authors for them being faithful in their hearing of The LORD’s heart and for being obedient in sending even these very short emails to me, on His behalf.
When The LORD ‘talks’ or acts, it does not need many Words, for it is done at the right time and uses the right words which accomplish exactly what it was intended to accomplish. Yes, The LORD can accomplish much, with very few Words.
It is also true that The LORD does not need to use Words, as there are so many other effective ways He can communicated with us.
All we need to do is open our minds and hearts to Him and look for the signs of His chosen channel of communication for that day, or that exchange.
For those who feel The LORD is not communicating with them, may I humbly suggest that you sit and look around and seek out the means of communications which He has chosen especially for you.
The LORD is faithful, and He always leaves signs for us. We just need to take the time to find them, and then act on them, as we acknowledge them and thank Him for them.

Amen!
This has encouraged me open my mind to The Lord for his guidance in alternative ways and means.
Thank you Angus.
Hi Andrew,
Yes, the more often we say “Thanks”, and more time we spend looking for His Hand in our lives, the more we recognize He is always there and always involved in our lives, in both big and small ways.
Blessings,
Angus
