By My Spirit, says The LORD!
Our human ability is not really strong enough at all to do the will, or to work the wonders, of God.
Some folks think that they have arrived at a holier state of mind than those around them, when they see the Spirit of God move for or through them, but if they aren’t careful, they become rather elite and condescending. And friends, neither of those things are of the Spirit! (Flesh Creature! Sit down!)
It is not about what you and I can do, but what HE alone can do! The Holy Spirit, not human strength, wisdom, wealth or talent, is the doorway to humble success in life, and living it fully.
God truly wants us to do mighty exploits for Him today, but we must be filled with the Spirit and anointed by the Spirit every single day for this to become a reality in our lives. Whenever we try to do things in our own strength we fail miserably!
So often I over-commit myself to people and to doing things, and I feel overwhelmed! When this happens, the Holy Spirit whispers this gentle reminder in my ears. “You can do all things through Christ who gives you the strength.”
Suddenly the pressure and stress of what I am facing is removed, and joy replaces worry. His joy begins to strengthen me for whatever task I am facing.
So he said to me….
“Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty,” Zechariah 4:6.
Human strength or muscle is not strong enough to accomplish the work of God on earth. It takes the presence, enablement, and power of the Holy Spirit in our lives to fulfill the prayer “Your will be done on earth.”
We don’t tell the wind where to blow and when to blow! And truly, we can’t tell God’s Spirit where to lead! You see, He is like the wind; He will lead us where He chooses, perfectly manifesting the will of God in harmony with the Father and the Son.
“The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit,” John 3:8.
Unless the Spirit of God pours fresh oil into His sons and daughters, many of the projects God wants done will stall. We may see a lot of wind and rain, but not much fruit. Much busyness, but not much of lasting spiritual value.
One of the marks of our being a son or daughter of God is receiving this spiritual guidance
“For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God,” Romans 8:14.
I want to encourage you by telling you that this burden/heavy responsibility He has given us to serve Him comes with His power and anointing to fulfill our calling. It is not in our own power, strength, or wisdom that we are going to succeed. We do not need to worry and fret about how we are going to accomplish the dreams and visions that He has given us.
So if you are feeling unworthy of your calling or perhaps you feel weak and incapable, praise God!
Hey dear reader! It’s Christ’s power in us that will help us to fulfill our calling, not by our own might, nor by our own power, but through His Holy Spirit we will succeed!
Maybe you would like to join me as I pray this today:
Lord, give me strength to face whatever this day may bring. Empower me by Your Spirit to “Enter In” and walk in Your ways and to do Your will. I totally depend upon your might and power and totally refuse to do things in my own strength. Thank You, Lord, for the Holy Spirit who is my might and power.
Amen!
